Are there not people around The Crucible that can replace tips for players?

Paul Collier is the best at it of the people at the venue.

A lot of players don't like anyone messing up the ferrule with the stanley knife so they almost always stick to someone they trust to do it, usually an ex-player.

Some players even have a preferred sand-paper they like to finish off the ferrule or top of the wood with. Personally I used to bring the same patch of sandpaper to tournaments for years.

Here we go, showing Selby's wife every 30 seconds.

John did that round trip to get Les Dodd to do his tip.

Shouting for Selby here - probably because I fancy him! Would be great to see Ding win though. He's played superbly.

Ding looks edgier now than he has at any other point in the tournament. He needs to win at least 1 frame in this mini session to have any chance I think.

I'm as likely to score him with a wife than without a wife so all the same for me! :p

Ding might be a bit too much in attack mode, which will play straight into Selby's hand.

Selby is capitalising brilliantly on Ding's mistakes, one error and it's enough for him to win the frame. The Torturer has become the Executioner. ;)

Hoping Ding gets a chance in the next frame. He was unlucky with that green. C'mon Ding!

Ding goes 14:12 down. He must win the next frame.

I can confirm she is still Mark's wife. Just got the BBC News alert.

Here we go, showing Selby's wife every 30 seconds.

    Drives me nuts.

As does him looking up to her every time anything of note happens.

Hendry's ex wife was called Mandy Tart.

I hear she was rather trifling.

Vicky is an excellent pool player, so she knows her way around a table.

Ding needs a frame winning contribution here badly.
