The U.S. is considering shooting down any news North Korean ballistic missile even if the weapon is not launched toward America or one of its allies, according to a report Tuesday.

A Trump administration official said it is up to the Pentagon to decide if North Korea's continued missile launches and variation of weapons tests warrant action from the United States.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and his advisers must determine "whether North Korea's missile program has progressed to the level of being such an inherent threat that the Pentagon would recommend targeting a missile even if its trajectory did not indicate it would hit the U.S. or its allies," CNN reported.

If they do go ahead and change policy and shoot down incoming missiles. War with North Korea may be just weeks away?

Trump is expected to make a President Bush (axis of evil) like speech at the UN today. His going to criticize Iran and North Korea.

Had it ever worked out for any US president using the old axis of evil reference.

On another note what will it take for the Liberal media to be anti war again. Cnn were creaming them self's when Trump launched a few missiles in Syria. They are just anti Trump now, rather then anti another pointless war.

What an idiot Trump is...his presidency will end in a damp squib.
I just hope America can learn to forget their stupidity.

The zionist bought off neo cons are creaming themselves at the thoughts of a war with Iran for decades now. It would be the biggest mistake they could ever make.

It was actually a tamer speech than I expected as regards Iran. North Korea on the other hand...

Its only a matter of time before they turn there attentions to Iran again. Obama did great work with regards having closer ties with the Iranians who have done most of the work in fighting Isis in Syria and Iraq.

Yeah, sounds about par for course for the US. Some of the latest press coverage in the States is sounding quite hawkish. For instance,

Donald Trump has said the US may have no choice but to “totally destroy” North Korea.

In his first address to the UN General Assembly - and with North Korean diplomats sitting just yards from him - Mr Trump said he will have no option to resort to such actions if Pyongyang does not halt the development of its nuclear weapons programme.

In perhaps the most striking piece of sabre-rattling yet, Mr Trump said that unless North Korea backed down, “we will have no choice than to totally destroy North Korea”.

It don't look good North Korea and United States will not go to war with each other. This is today's Cuban missile crisis.

Trump just called them a murderous regime and says the Iran nuclear deal is an embarrassment to the United States. Looks like Trump wants out of it. Another broken deal. This will only make Iran push ahead with it's own military build up.

Probably the most coherent speech I've heard him make. Not helpful but coherent.

Kim will still be around long after Trump's old mangy carcass has rotted into the ground.

Someone who had predicted Trump to be president also predicted that he will start a world war in October 2017. That prediction seems to be coming true
The U.S. is prepared to launch a preemptive strike with conventional weapons against North Korea should officials become convinced that North Korea is about to follow through with a nuclear weapons test, multiple senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.

North Korea has warned that a "big event" is near, and U.S. officials say signs point to a nuclear test that could come as early as this weekend.
The intelligence officials told NBC News that the U.S. has positioned two destroyers capable of shooting Tomahawk cruise missiles in the region, one just 300 miles from the North Korean nuclear test site.

American heavy bombers are also positioned in Guam to attack North Korea should it be necessary, and earlier this week, the Pentagon announced that the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group was being diverted to the area.

Will North Korea keep calm on Saturday or will they test the resolve of Trump?

Actually, yes, it was. A comment reflected upon by the analysts on the radio over here. In tune with the general policy positions Trump has had throughout the campaign, but definitely less bellicose and conciliatory to the UN than expected.

Why does the US have to do it?

I'd be for a co-ordinated international effort including Russia and China.

Because America only drop freedom and democracy bombs, all you have to do is ask the Iraqi's, Afghans or Libyans, three countries who are basking in peace and democracy after American intervention.

Remind us of Afghanistan pre American intervention and removal of the Taliban ,
Actually go back to pre Soviet invasion and tell us about Afghanistan

Yeah, they proved that they are unable to govern themselves and need dictators in charge of them.

A war that is now on its 3rd US president. Did Trump not have to send a few thousand troops back there a few months back as the Taliban were making gains again? What about the Iraqi's? A million of them are no longer with us and how many American soldiers lost there life or came back maimed from a war based on blatant lies?
