Meanwhile china held live fire military excerises including naval and airforces in the korean peninsula today ,
Some are suggesting it was a show of force in Defence of NK

Doubt it. If china does make a move it will be most likely AGAINST North Korea not in defence of them. Defending them would cost them credibility big time expecially since its been NK provoking over and over for a long time now and they're the beligerent ones for pushing the nukes issue. Not only that but the last thing they would want is to get into a direct conflict with the US as they would suffer heavily for it expecially since they would take a huge hit in trade and so forth.

Most likely scenario I could see happening is Fatty goes too far, US responds with a strike, they escalate and US promply proceeds to bomb the **** out of their major military and nuclear centers. They wont use a nuke unless its a last stand scenario they full well know any first strike attempts with a nuke would trigger a mass retaliatory response. The most likely ones to put the boot in that I would put my money on is the chinese as they would rather take control of the country before the US and SK were to launch an invasion.

I honestly am expecting the Second Korean War to break out at some stage bar NK deciding to lose the nukes. They developed them convinced that it will insure their survival but the truth is all they've done is drawn attention to themselves. Not only that but by throwing stupid threats out they've basically made themselves look like the looney waving the gun and needing to be dealt with.

The only way I could possibly see this coming to a halt is if the US decides to dramatically reinforce SK with significant troop reinforcements and other assets like say placing Nuclear Ready forces in Japan and SK and basically saying "come at me bro". China seriously needs to make a show of force as well and basically threaten to completely cut them off as well as mass their own forces on their side of the border and for a change seriously deal with them. It might get the penny to drop in NK that if they dont cut their shyte out for a change they're the ones gonna get Curb Stomped for real as everyone is basically tired of this shyte.

The Chinese want to be the new top dog they will need to show they mean business and getting into the mix with america is the way to go ,
China doesn't want a unified Korea under any circumstances there using the excuse to keep NK as a buffer zone against south Korea economically and the US ,
Hence the Chinese government last week telling the world there army are willing to defeat all invaders ,
No country is planning to invade china but yet they are building a massive modern military capable of taking its neighbours territories and Sovereign waters ,

Even Vietnam stopped drilling for oil off its own coast because they were threatened by the fear of attack by the Chinese navy with no back up from the rest of the world,

North Korea is all smoke there is something bigger at play here

The most heavily armed nation in world history threatening another country for having about 1% of its military capabilities.

The never ending US bloodlust continues.

I thought Trump suggested that he wasn't going to give away his plan of action in advance of attacks?

That's pretty blinkered given the fact NK has again and again threatened the US with destruction over the years. Only so long you can pretend to be a tough guy before you get your arse handed to you. Yet Trump is the bad guy here

According to Fox News.North Korean state-run media reports the country is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles. South Korean media are reporting this? I doubt it personally they will attack first?

Agreed, would destroy any leverage they have.

About 10yrs* away from being anywhere even close to challenge the top dog. NK for them and the other superpower however was a slightly 'useful small barking mad dog' at their back gates. But that dog seems to have berserk of late, so medicate it or just put down?

*Could be sooner (than a decade) pending technological developments. Think it was Rus that announced they have new 'hypersonic stick-throwing' capabilities, a game changer for the uk's recent £xbn big boats, now maybe just large ducks to them. Deep water and actual Space (Mars) will maybe be the areas of focus and potential conflict by 2030+.

So your plan is to allow anyone/everyone to have these capabilities? That'll sure work out great in those medieval regions. Two large, developed and opposing equal gatekeepers would be the ideal scenario for peace, more than that and it gets complicated.

It's a strange day though, i never seen the America media talk so much about North Korea. On CNN right now headline is North Korea threatens preemptive attack on Guam. It's like things are out of control? Tomorrow could be a different day, but today the media is telling the American people war is coming and be ready.

If a wee guy kept slapping me in the face there's only so many warnings I would give him to stop doing it.

Think it will start out with one or two missiles being fired by the North with the South and the Americans responding with same. This will go on for a day or two with both sides not wanting to lose face and then will slowly escalate to a full on barrage on Seoul by NK leading to the deployment of nukes by the yanks on military targets in the North. Then we are all entering a new era and god help us all.

Can't see a scenario in which this happens. Neither China, South Korea or Japan would allow it due to radioactive contamination. The rest of world wouldn't turn a blind eye either as it would be perhaps the single biggest humanitarian crime ever committed.

If push comes to shove, US could deal with NK with conventional weapons. Huge casualties for SK and US military in the region, but that would happen nukes or no nukes.

Stupid if they start this because when it starts it unlikely can be stopped? Trump fire, fury and power, he is losing it really with this talk.. North Korea will only feel threatened by Trump again.

One missle in either direction will not be a day or two skirmish ,
The risk of even a single nuclear weapon been launched and detonated wont and cannot be risked or tolerated ,
expect total war and nothing less unfortunately

If kim fire's a missle at Guam he faces Aniliation

Really? You have millions of brainwashed humans, willing to die for a leader that has said that they are going to attack the US.

You must be Ok with Kim big pongs blood lust for killing his family and anyone that fecks up using AA guns.

Or what about the millions that are believed to be in death camps?

But that's fine.. Big bad USA.

North Korean army infrastructure is underground or inside mountain areas. If America attacked with bombers most of Kim army will be underground waiting. The only realistic way to taking out North Korea army is nuking it and it likely will happen. We don't know how advanced he's missile program is? We know Japan and South Korea are going to be nuked. America potentially can be hit also. This is a bad situation.

Not intending to make light of a potentially serious situation, but the rhetoric from both sides in the last few days is uncannily like a Game of Thrones(GOT) script ( maybe to appeal to the masses?)
North Korea threatening US with "a pack of wolves"
After the airing of GOT Season 7 episode 4 on Sunday evening (US, which for none watchers features a dragon incinerating an army) Trump threatened "fire and fury" on North Korea.
Hopefully those with real power are not watching a fictional show and trying to learn lessons from it (an over simplification, but it's late!)

America could care less what China, SK or Japan think. They won't allow NK to have missiles capable of nuking NY, Washington, LA or any city on the mainland. We have reached the end game.

Trump probably not. Another administration in the White House may view this differently? Trump is a hot head he was always the unpredictable part of this. North Korea always threatens and does very little.

It's a dreadful situation. If it escalates over the next day or two i fully expect a run on the banks also. 8 years Obama left this steaming turd to develop these nukes and the capability to hit the US mainland.

As I said before, a well aimed bomb could entomb the NK forces underground.

The RAF and USAF found that out by accident when they tried to take out V2 rocket sites with 10,000 lbs bombs.

Hit around it, not on top of it..

Not sure, if he has got the support to attack North Korea yet. Tensions are definitely hotter today though.
