Not the cheapest example, but certainly one of the cleanest looking ones.

    Unusually high spec 107
https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/peugeot-107-2006-excellent-condition/18884596 probably want to be getting a few quid off that.

Not sure what to think of that 107..

Even cleaning the wheels and taking the seat covers off would make it far more appealing in the ad. Body looks tidy.

Mightn’t be any harm to get him to list the spec it has:
    9 airbags
    16” alloy wheels
    Front foglights
    Front and rear electric windows
    Steering wheel radio controls
    Remote locking

Noth8ng exotic there, but no harm in listing it.

Would also suggest changing “no problems with engine or gearbox” to “engine and gearbox working perfectly”

+ take photos in a nicer area

I know, I should hate the twin headlight kit, but it’s a Peugeot part, and the car just generally looks smart.

It's hard to believe that the peugeot is from 2006.
    Time has flown.

I still think of 2008- 2009 cars as new :o

One for bangers and luxobarges, I think.

Tax, test, lpg, 2.8l, and under 2k.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,456 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

    €95 tax though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,882 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

    500km for 46 euro isn't even cheap? You'd do that on a long run in a v8

In petrol terms, €46 is 32 litres, so rough figures 6.4 l/100km which is equivalent around 45mpg.

With the suspension done that would take a load of hassle off it. Air suspension is great until they go wrong which on my one often did.
LPG conversion makes it attractive too.

    2.2? Nah! Maybe.
Rare to see an Irish spec one, think the garage I was in only ever sold one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,812 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Pretty low spec considering it would have been the "top of the line" engine.
Wonder if it's the better 150bhp or the kill yourself cause of the gearbox 177..

Less reliable than 2.0 or just heavier on fuel?

Both! Given that there’s so little between that and a 2.0 (127 vs 147), it’s hardly worth it. That said - for 2 grand and half the tax it would have been in 07, it’s not the worst thing you could buy.

We only got the 150 here

Depends, the 177 version is a pain in the hole gear ratio wise. The box makes no sense and it's shared with the IS.
It is also prone to severe HG failure.
The 150 version however is supposed to be far more reliable but the tax would have killed it here compared it to the 2.0.
I think though that the 2.0 is only 115bhp?

2.0 5 speed before 06 would have been, but got upgrade to 127 and 6 speed.

Ah right, was thinking it couldn't have been so bad back in 08.
We've the 177, sweet jesus no matter what you do it isn't economical at all.
And 6th is pointless to the effect that I simply stay in 5th if I'm driving it.

    Thanks all

So - avoid or consider? Need something ASAP. Moving from a 2.0t SAAB 9-5 so anything will be more economical! I need reliability over any type of looks........hence the Toyota!

Test drive it, as mentioned more than likely that's the 150 model which more than likely will be reliable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,456 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

    It’s 100% a 150 model.

Those seat covers aren’t seat covers though.

This is what Avensis Luna seats look like.

If economy and cheap running costs are the main aim you'd be potentially better off with something like this.

Theyre generally good. A remap makes them a much more pleasant car to cruise around in. Solid mpg figures too.

Really thought that was a seat cover! How the buck can they have gotten so bad?!!

Looking like a 1,500 euro car more and more....

That's definitely just a cheap seat cover on that Avensis?
