Mileage is highish but not out of the ordinary for the age.
Automatic - anything to be concerned with on these
    5 months tax. Years nct.
Pictures are a bit odd to me, either low quality or filtered.

It's nothing mileage for the engine once correct oil was used
    Lovely car
I'd be asking for the service history, especially for the gearbox

Whats going on with the top left hand side of the windscreen? Looks like someone gave it a belt of a hammer

Think it's just a splash of something - seems to be wiped away in part by the windscreen wipers - mud, or a bird with bowel issues?

Much prefer the look of that model a6 than the one that came after.

My argument wasn't that it wouldn't be profitable, if by profitable you mean that you end up with more money in your pocket afterwards than you had at the start, my argument was that it simply wouldn't be "handy"

The collection of the car, removal of the engine and ancillaries, answering calls to buyers, meeting potential buyers, selling them, dropping the shell for weighing in etc. would, off the top of my head, take at least 20-30 hours of one's time. For a potential profit of €200. I simply value my free time considerably more than €6-€10 per hour (not counting the cost of diesel, phone, placing the ad, wear and tear on car and trailer etc.)

Time is the most valuable commodity on the planet and the first thing people forget about when they see a potential bargain or avenue to earn a few bob.

Looks pretty low rent to me but there are Skoda fans on here and I would still drive it.
    08 Octavia 1.9 dsl,
    NCT's until July,
Low miles @ 119k km if legit,
    Asking €1,950

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

That screams ex UK police car

  • Registered Users Posts: 51,243 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

The UK police tend to have vRS models unless it was a community police car. More than likely ex UK mini cab/hackney. They love white diesel Skodas. As for the claimed mileage, lol.

On my phone the back door looks 'extra' white, on the computer the front door sticks out.....my bad

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,809 ✭✭✭Old diesel

Anything can turn up in a UK police force - would be no surprise at all to find that some 1.9 tdi Octavias were taken on as normal patrol cars.

Cheshire police took on some Kuga AWDs for example and use the Peugeot 308 as their standard patrol car.

Proper power 3 series and X5 BMWs for heavy duty punsuit and armed response and all that good stuff

1 owner and allegedly has full history, NCT till April 2020, bit of tax

€2k seems awful cheap but I suppose the miles aren't exactly enticing and Donegal is a bit of a trek for most people

Nah, to get the full "vintage" section price hike you need to be sure it hasn't seen the inside of an NCT centre for at least 5 years.

The only thing rare about that Passat these days is it doesn't have a "never been around the ring" sticker on the boot or wide mud flaps.

More stupid incorrect mumbo jumbo like "only one in the country", besides putting something useful in the ad. No doubt the engine, clutch and gearbox are 110% too blah blah blah.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-mondeo-2008-low-mileage-with-tax-and-nct/21016912
