His audition was soooooo much better. Likeable chap but not sure that's good enough

The backing for the Irish girl is terrible. Too loud for her.

I think you're right, nevertheless she has some set of pipes. She should be rightly proud of her performance. Simon had a point about the staging, needed something a bit more showy.

Fantastic talent, I just hope the producers choices don't affect her.

The dance pair were surprisingly good, not normally my kind of act but well done to them

    I love the tappers!

I think thats what the spirit of the show is about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,348 ✭✭✭✭km79

    I loved that !
    They really went for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,030 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Dancing was cheesy . Tappers need a time machine.
    Tiny Magician was great.
    Opera singer was class

If I had to pick two based on tonight I'd go Leah & the dance pair. I like Matt but don't think his performance was as good as those

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,350 ✭✭✭Cortina_MK_IV

I hope Matt doesn't get through but I think he'll be okay as there will be some suit somewhere earmarking him for a show. I hope Leah gets through but tough call.

I was looking forward to the tap dancing but I wish they had done something more modern. It all just seemed so old fashioned.

I liked the opera girl and the mini magician tonight.

Am delighted for her , and surprised also that Matt got through if I'm being honest , even though I like him :)

Hope Little Ms Opera gets the judges vote at end of week. She is best not there yet .

Matt verges on the annoying. His trickery beyond childish.
That trick with the dice was so lame, Ant shakes the container the dice was in and he was suppose to have stopped at which point he looks into see what number was face up, instead he pours dice into his hand and turns it to 5, and claims 5 at the random number.

Very irritating. Was brutal performance tonight too.

I think you have to be in the top 3 to be eligible for the wild card

Am i the only person here who thinks this thing is a bit of a fix?
I dont understand how the little girl won over the two dancers, opera singer and got higher marks then the other "magician"
I found the guy who came second more of a comdeian then anything else, reminded me of lee evans. I thought the judges basicly told him he had it sewn up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,904 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

I must be a heartless cynic but I didn't enjoy the kid's act. Feels like somebody else's work

I preferred the dancers but I like contemporary dance but people seem not to like it. I was expecting the girl to win it tough.
The opera signer was good but I think part of the attachment to her is being Irish!

I usually hate things like the dance pair, but I thought they deserved to go through. It was a very good performance

It's interesting that Leah's performance has the least views of any of last night's on YouTube and that includes the grandma DJ. I guess she wasn't very popular with the public.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,695 ✭✭✭gizmo81

Is it just that the demographic for watching BGT and in turn Youtube wouldn't be interested in a classical singer?

For me both magicians acts basically rehashed old tricks. Was it very cold on that stage because the young magician had a very big and bulky jacket on.

I'm looking for sympathy. Still without a functioning TV - and missing all of this. A tecnician is supposed to visit tomorrow to see if problem can be fixed. That means no TV since Sunday! Poor me!

In the meantime I have been watching Youtubes on my laptop re Permaculture - No Dig Gardening. Probably more useful to me in the long run, come to think of it. LOL!

    Cheers, Everybody. Enjoy you BGT!

Just thinking! I feel ill at ease re Leah going on BGT. If she wants a career as an opera singer, I think she's going the wrong way about it. There are tried and tested ways of becoming an opera singer - for a young person starting out. I don't think BGT is one of them. IMO, she's jumping the gun here. What she needs is a proper singing teacher, such as Veronica Dunne or similar, who can direct her career. Enter singing competitions which are open to other opera singers, perform in smaller venues and in that way build up experience etc etc.

It's okay for people like Paul Potts and Susan Boyle, who have missed out on those oportunities, while younger. Just some thoughts!

    It was also shíte.

The bag was lined with different numbers, but there's no way all the numbers in the bag weren't the same. The reveal was also crap. The sheet she took out of the envelope was obviously put in by someone before she took it out. Plenty of opportunity for one of those stage hands to sneak it in.

It's only that she is young that she's through.

    Yes, I'm a cynical prick.

Are any of the magic tricks this year new?
Vote for me because I'm a woman in magic is a bit weak. Though she not as annoying as the guy yesterday

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,695 ✭✭✭gizmo81

These acts with voice over narratives are really boring. I love a story but there's no build, no drama. The music in the background doesn't even build. They need some Two Steps From Hell music.

I feel the show is downscaled this year. Budget cutbacks.

No denying he has good timing and delivery but there's not a snowballs chance in hell he wrote that by himself.

    Still best so far tonight

No his dad did, he is a joke writer on some BBC comedy's (not going out, being one of them)

Well that happened....what possesses a grown man to do that? I did laugh though.

Simon is spot on about the two female judges, saying I expected more robot stuff and transforming. Was there a different man in a robot suit at the auditions they confused him with. The auditions they both gave him a yes at.

I don't like mini divas with these huge songs.

They just shout them and have no life experience to give an ummmphhhh to the lyrics.

    Sorry mini rant over

You are so correct, she can sing so she doesn't need to break out the vocal gymnastics for every single note

That Irish dancing lad is great, but, I didn't get the song choice. The song was conflicting with the theme.

Could be a fantastic act for him, if he's managed all that by this age, given the right supports and backing he could have a great show to tour the states or something.
