Only 1080P. Pointless buying at this resolution on such a large screen.

This is typically what you get for €400 in this size screen. It's grand as a second tv for the likes of a kids playroom, etc.

Why do you figure that? I'd take a top quality 1080p panel over a cheap 4K panel on a TV this size, hands down.

I'm not saying this particular TV is a good panel, but more that to say that 1080p is pointless at 49" is a bit silly.

When I bought my last TV I took a 1080p set over 4K as it was the best TV in the price range with the best image quality. (about €800 at the time)

Resolution doesn't equal quality. This LG TV - €399 is a decent price but hard to forgive just 1 HDMI in this day and age for a TV this size.

I've seen them going for 350 on Amazon

Limited usefulness with only 1 hdmi

I bought a 43 inch version of this in Arnotts for e299. It was e249 for a short while last week, but I think that was a mistake.

Good bits - it has a satellite tuner built in, but not Freesat. It has a USB port for recording. Is fully Saorview compatible. Great picture.

Bad bits - it has only one HDMI connector but has a SCART (whatever that is). It has a network connection but no use for it. It does not have Netflix or anything like that. It does not come with a useful manual - like it does not cover how to tune the satellite connector and reorder the channels.

Great price, but software/firmware is old and rubbishy. Pity as a firmware upgrade to include network apps and this TV would be incredible. It might be better if set to UK but have not tried that yet.

Still a great TV for the price. It is replacing another LG that is not Saorview compatible and that cost about e850 about 8 years ago.

You can get a switching unit on Amazon for like 10/15EUR, you'll have as many as needed. Just a suggestion if someone liked the TV but was put off by this.

Didn't mean to upset you, I just think a second HDMI would have been cheaper and better. Who uses a SCART these days?

I'd say there are few legacy devices people might still use, VHS, them video sender units thingys, gaming consoles.
