Best way to buy road legal motocross bike or enduro?

    Hello I'm 28 . I have my Lerner permit for the A license. And wanted to know what's the best way of finding a motor cross bike or enduro that's road legal , lookin for 125 or 250 cc max. Tried all donedeal and adverts , no luck. Any help would be appreciated .

    Doubt you'll find a road legal motocross bike as they aren't designed for road use, no lights and most likely no loom so it would have to be a bigish job to get legal. All enduros should be road legal as they could have road sections.

    Getting insured could be difficult.

    Yamaha WR250 would be worth a look.
    4-stroke - I mention that because a DoneDeal link above has a WR 2-stroke which I didn't know existed.

    The WR two strokes came out long before the 4t versions.
    The gearbox from a WR450 fitted the YZ250 to give the wide range needed for an enduro machine.

    Road legal one are rare as hen's teeth: I sold mine last year, after 6 years, for more than I paid for it.............

    No-one is buying them new, that's the problem, and I'm not surprised considering the prices involved...........

    Be very careful of buying a 'road legal' UK bike: they have a system of 'daylight MOT' which allows a range of off road stuff to be registered - competition bikes etc.

    Unless the bike has an actual V5C, number plate and instruments - especially an odometer - you won't be able to register it here at all, no matter what plate is on the back of it.

    I have seen people caught on this, so very caveat, very emptor.
