Here is a link to the PSA website that has a list of installers of CCTV.

No real spec of whats on the system in that link.
I've also found the main website which they are on, again not much information.
If they where that good it would have a full spec that we all could see.
Another point is what type drive is installed in these units.
For a 1 TB surveillance drive which is what should be used you would be looking at over €100 alone.

Buyer beware is all I can say.

It appears to be sold out of a lot of stores already.

It says in the product description.
Set & Forget recording, record continuously for up to 28 days on a 1TB Hard Drive

It does say one is installed, doesn't say why type hard drive it is.
It needs to be a proper surveillance drive.

Why? A surveillance disk is as likely to fail or not as a standard HDD.

Both can fail but a surveillance is designed to run 24/7, normal drives like what would be found in a computer are not.
    Two totally different hard drives.

You would imagine that the Aldi system would be equipped with the surveillance drive, no? Otherwise it would be redundant.

At that price I wouldn't be betting on it.
A standard drive will work but its not up to the same spec as the surveillance drive for this purpose.

Western Digital make hard drives specifically for DVRs NVRs etc so yes a surveillance drive is a good thing to have. Normal drives wouldn't be long dying if placed in a machine running 24/7 365 days a year. Any drive we replace in a system is always a WD surveillance drive minimum 1tb.
