Hey all thanks for the comments, I was about 70% sure that i couldn't drive without insurance on her car. I thought she's in the car so its fine. Plus my dad allowed me to do it regularly when i was home from university.

I hear so many different things from my mates and then older friends and family and its all conflicting. I have found it difficult to find someone to confidently answer all my road usage questions and not say "ill get back to you on that one or not sure its a grey area".

However I will NOT be driving her car and have made her aware of this.

    Thanks :)

The bottom line is that it is illegal to drive a car on the public road unless you are insured and there is no grey area. Driving your dad's car while you are not insured is included !! If you are not 100% sure then contact the insurance company concerned.
But yes, wise move to tell your aunt you won't be driving!

He might have open insurance that allows it. If not , this is massively irresponsible of him!

Even if he did Op wouldn't be cover as it generally requires a full license
