Robert Reade's is just opposite the front door and does a good carvery every day for around a tenner. Good portions too. Then you have The Brew Dock at the Luas stop too which has a nice menu but a tad pricey.

Around the corner there is the Ripley Court hotel on Talbot Street.  They do a lunch menu and its usually carvery etc.  Priced around €8 or so and the portions are huge so you will be well fed.

Madigans Bar & Restaurant in Connolly Station do carvery at lunchtime. Also a variety of coffee / sandwich places there.
