Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To use a cliché, it was men against boys. Ajax couldn't cope with the physicality.

Souness' bitterness is palpable. I'd love to get some of his beautiful salty bitterness and rub it all over my body.

Champions league group stages baby :):):):)

Tactical genius from Jose, the circle is complete, we've now won every major trophy in football. Now stick that in your pipe Liverpool and smoke it.

This is what its all about, winning the big trophies!

Tactically it was perfect, Felliani MOTM for me, this is a massive result!

Always great to win a final,
    Very jealous, enjoy lads :)

Darmian, Fellaini, Valencia, Smalling, and Herrera were immense tonight. Fantastic performances.

It really is fantastic to see how much the players love Jose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Haha Souness you bitter bitter man.

Anyone remember the 99 final? Made tonight's performance look like the Barcelona!

****ing absolutely delighted. ****ing nearly in tears seeing Zlatan out there on the pitch with them.

It was said by many at the start of the season. Jose guarentess trophies. Two in his first "underwhelming" season. Champions league football again.

For all the ups and downs, the mistakes, the ****e finishing, the negative tactics in certain games, I can't think of any team in England bar Chelsea that's had a more successful season when it comes down to it

Summer to come. Greizeman incoming now I'd guess.

The revolution has begun. Viva La Revolution!

    Buzzing. Just buzzing.

So happy. It's the trophy, the class of player we can attract now, everything. So happy.

Great win, Jose banked on Europa league and delivered it. 2 trophies in a season is a very good return. In the last 2 seasons we have won 3 trophies and also 2 community shields (not important though). Now we have qualified for group stages of CL, also will play Super cup next season.

    Delighted :D

So only Chelsea have had a more successful season. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Best we've played in a European final in my life time.

Edit: maybe cup winners cup actually.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Can you imagine if Utd went in at half time a goal ahead, then came out for the second half and shat their collective spines out their collective arses and conceded 3 goals, thus losing the Europa League final 3-1?

That would have sucked balls :)

    Souness is raging.

    "Antoine Griezmann, come on doooown!"

    *Griezmann parachutes into the stadium*

    Top off the night.

Souness is making this even better.

I usually have time for him but he's embarrassing himself tonight. Haha. It's hilarious.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

Jose has had most succesful debut season in charge by any United manager and I cant actually wait to see what he does with 'his' team.

He now has the perfect chance as the standard of players he can attract now is from the top tier. Some of them may have come anyway but now he will get who he wants.

Remember it? I'm still recovering from it tbh.

I've been told that when Ole scored the winner, I jumped into the air, cleared everybody on the couch and landed about 15 feet away from my take off point.

Great result, that was a massive game, probably one of the biggest that Utd ever played given the likely negative consequences of losing.

Is it into the group stages of the CL or qualifying round?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Herrera is loving it so much. So much passion. He's like a white Patrice Evra :)

It's all well and good demanding that united are competing for league titles and top tier european trophies but I'm happy to take a step back and appreciate tonight for what it is.

26 years ago uniteds Cup Winners Cup run made me fall in love with the club and tonight adds the final trophy to uniteds collection.

    Group stages, second seeds.
Tottenham are now third seeds and Liverpool have to qualify.
