This is what griezmann said on French tv..

“With my sports advisor, Eric Olhats, we decided to stay.

It’s a hard time for the club. It would be a blow to go now.

We talked to the club and we will be back for next season.”

Men goes on to say United

United are adamant they have not dropped their interest in Griezmann, and could revive their pursuit once Atletico’s ban is lifted in January or next summer.

That is utter nonsense from them it United said nothing whatsoever on the subject. The only people that reported United had cooked their interest were the English media and maybe they were briefed by someone inside the club but that someone could of had as much idea as to what Jose and Woodward are doing as the rest of us.

I don't blame griezmann for staying then it is a classy thing to do on his part and it looks pretty obvious he would of moved if the ban was lifted.

If he don't sign a new contract which he hasn't yet I'd be pretty confident something will happen next summer if we are still in a position of wanting him.

Poor aul Carrick. Can't even spell his name right for his testimonial.

£30m plus Morata for De Gea could be a good deal (as much as I would hate to see Dave leave). The thinking might be that De Gea will want to go at some point even if he stays this year, and surely they have a replacement in mind. If we could pick up a keeper for £30m or not much more, it could work out ok and free up funds for Greizmann in January for example.

I think it's a nice, but ultimately naive thing for Griezmann to do. The only people deservedly benefitting here are the Atletico fans. The club got a deserved ban and are reaping the rewards of his loyalty. They won't let any players go who want to leave without a serious fight as they can't replace them easily. Loyalty goes both ways, but it seems that we expect it more from the individual than the institution.

Id definitley take morata as part of the deal he has a goal every 90 minutes for madrid this year thats fair going.

Don't think I've seen it mentioned at all this morning but today could very well be Wayne Rooney's last game at Old Trafford!! A goal for him today would be very nice

Great to see all the old players back for United some great names there.

Has there been anything more on his future? Lots of people talking like he is definitely gone this summer, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in the squad next year.

Probably won't be he will be back for other testimonials in sure. Rooney had his moment today is Carricks day.

I'd be very surprised to see Rooney stay tbh. Can't imagine he is happy with his game time and role in the team right now. He is 31, still got a couple of years in him. He most definitely will have offers left right and centre

    Some legends in that team.

No one expects it from him but it's a classy thing to do. Maybe he has an agreement stay one more year and you leave with our blessing it makes a lot more sense then what the media are reporting.

Nope. And there's very little chance of that happening so doubt we have to worry about it. Mbappe is Real Madrid bound I bet.

Yeah, and ignoring the fact that they've more of a pull factor going for him they're also better for his development I reckon - lots of great players to learn from (including the manager) but also the fact he won't have nearly pressure to win games for them because of those same guys. Should give him a nice two years or so to really settle in and develop his game.
