Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When the heck is our new home kit released? We'll hardly be doing pre-season in this years garb?

Preseason doesn't start until July. First preseason match is 15th July. Don't expect to see the kit until around then.

Everton fan on another forum tells me that Lukaku has signed a new contract with a £110m release clause.

Isn't this one all but confirmed?

    I really like it.

Why would he do that ?

Doesn't make a sense to me,would be a silly move imo.

That was my thought. Especially as he's only just been quoted saying he wanted CL football and a title challenging team.

It's a nice fit too,it's more "tailored" than jerseys used to be.

Think belotti is more prolific than morata playing in a lesser team and scored good few goals this year 25 or more I think

De Gea must be cursing that fax machine.

I'll believe De Gea is going nowhere when the transfer window closes. Till then its just another day, another story.

Marca are the unofficial mouthpiece of Real. If they're running with it, it's probably true.

Marca quoting Portuguese newspaper also say:

"Real Madrid could be about to receive a mega offer for their star man Cristiano Ronaldo, with 180 million euros reportedly set to be put on the table.
Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and teams from the Chinese Super League are all said to be considering launching what would be an audacious bid. "They are ready to lose their heads for the best player in the world," Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports. It would be the biggest news of the transfer market if it does indeed come to fruition.

What figure is Ronaldo worth per year revenue wise?

Spending 180 million on a 32 year old would be crazy, I don't care who it is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Unreal player, currently the best striker in the world by a country mile but really, how many more years can the guy continue to put up these kind of numbers? No way would be score the amount of goals in the PL he managed in La Liga.

Fact is though, we'd be favorites for the title for the next 3 seasons in all likelyhood if he stays as fit as he always is.

I agree, the figures are nuts though.

I know figures are nuts but think of the shirt sales and financial gains from having the poster boy of world football at the club again? and then think of the threat he would bring to our game...

Sssshhh, you can't mention a players marketability or what he'd bring in in advertising revenue when discussing transfer fees. I got that message already.

How much would be made back in jersey sales alone?

If he nets 30-40 for 2 seasons it's likely to bring a league and possible champions league so it's worth it. For all the talk of Madrid being way ahead of everybody they couldn't replace his goals which would savage their quality.

Not all value should be based on age or resale...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

Ronaldo is that good that if he signed for us we would be prem league favourites straight away and one of the favourites for champ league. He is actually that good.

Don't do it to yourselves lads. That pain has been experienced too many summers already to be going through it for a report of 180m for a 32 year old.

Sure is, this was the next tweet after the one I had seen, that it could possibly be him using China to get a better deal, though can't see him staying around if they rip his squad to bits

Turns out that's exactly what happened.

New deal until 2020 signed today.

I'd pay anything for Ronaldo. He'd carry us to league wins and deep into the CL. A force of nature.

It works out, minutes divided by goals but a fairly pointless stat.

Ah ok I get it now. I was looking at games/goals stats rather than the minutes played.

hahaha pool basically forced to drop their pursuit of Van Dijk and apologise because they tapped him up.

Wonder if we might be able to snap him up?
