Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You related to Griezmann or something? Seem a bit touchy about it.

Probably some big incentives in the contract for goals etc.

I was reading recently that this is "seemingly" only a real thing in England. I found that hard to believe that other countries like Spain, Italy and Germany wouldn't have goal bonuses and assists bonuses or whatever, but transpires in England it dwarves other nations in terms of the figures?

Its a silly thing to incentives though. if they want bonuses it should be something like goal or assist or major contribution to a goal. but incentivising the individual over the team is never good imo

Pogba wages were disclosed by footyleaks

    2016/17 - £220,769
Basic salary £8.61 million or £165k per week
    Image rights £2.87 million

    2017/18 - £306,826
Basic Salary £7.75 million or £149k per week
    Image rights £2.87 million
    Loyalty Bonus £3.46 million
    Champs League Qualification £1.875 million

So basic is the low figure and the rest if bonus and image rights. The image rights is an interesting one. How would you calculate the image rights for say someone like Lindelof or VdV? You'd imagine they would be a fraction of someone who's as marketable as a Pobga or in Liverpool's case I guess a Coutinhio?

Even the image rights between equally marketable players at two different clubs must be vastly different. Given how much United generate from advertising I'd imagine that plays a huge part in the image rights deals that players get to take part in these campaigns.

A loyalty bonus of about half the original wages after 1 season is a joke though imo.

rwbug just showed the bonus that Pogba is said to be on and it's collective by the looks of it as well as image rights which would be down to the player.

Soriano wrote in his book when at Barca that he believes goal bonuses are detrimental to the overall good of the team, so it is doubtful that they play a major part of Citys wage structure. The wages are supposedly heavily incentivised though, probably on team based goals rather than individual.

At City the basic wage is supposed to be 80% of what they believe a players wage should be, but bonuses can take the basic wage higher to 120%.

Liverpool are the weird one out the big clubs, they correctly pay their better players like Coutinho very well but seem to overpay their squad players, resulting in a very high wage bill.

dropped cause he is rubbish and a disaster of a signing for United. Mourinho and Woodward should be sacked.

    its sky sports.

nothing to do with being an expert, they have Paul Merson on regularly, who is awful.

Jamie Redknapp is one of their main pundits.

BT have robbie savage, michael owen and owen hargreves

bbc have phil neville, mark lawerson and sometimes joey barton

rte have eamonn dunphy, richard sadlier dietmar hamann

tv3 once had ken doherty as a pundit!!

reminds me of an ex-Arsenal player on Sky complaing about Marco Silva getting the Hull job. Says it should have went to a young English manager. When asked for an example of who he meant he said Tierry Henry.

Like these guys are paid for their opinions.

but its stuff like that that gets people talking. If you had proper experts on the programme it would be very boring

Did they get pen for that? The vid cut off but it looks like Cahill was going to Sean Cavanagh him.

this is Pogba playing a more advanced role with less defensive responsibility. give the man a bit of freedom and he could be lethal for us. class act tonight.

he is playing against a non existent English midfield and poor centre halves though. still, very positive

Only watching because of Pogba but France have some very good young players. Pogba, Mbappe and Dembele made that third goal look so easy.

Still think we don't currently have the player to offer the defensive cover for him. That's why I think a DM signing is as important as a striker and will have such a positive effect on the balance of the team offensively as well as defensively.

I really hope that signing happens, whoever it may be.

think we should try and sign Dembele...

Mbappe is class but dont think Jose would trust him to be our main striker this season and he would cost a fortune

    valencia---bailly
    lindelof----shaw

destroy majority of teams next season with that line up

Said that last season when we signed him. He was never going to answer our midfield problems on his own and he needed a foil that we don't currently have.

    Perisic - ?40m
    Morata - ?60m
    Fabinho - ?40m
    Lindelof - ?30m

That looks the most likely set of inbound transfers this summer. Around ?170m outgoing.

What are we likely to see outgoing?

    Januzaj - ?10m
    Jones or Smalling - ?15/20
    Maybe Romero??

    Anyone else to go?

Doubt if Januzai would make anything near 10m unfortunately.

The club mentioned was Sociedad. Presume they've relaxed their basque only policy. Or are they the basque club that don't stick to basques only?
