Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Maybe he was talking about Charles Barkley...

    In basketball yep,

    at football nope.

    At golf? Definitely not

That's exactly what he said, and the detailed reason was even worse. He said that Barkley would give more balance.

I've watched a fair few Everton games this season and bar the odd Gerrard highlights reel pass he's been shocking.

I think if a big bid came in for Herrera I'd accept it and spend the money on Barkley or Nianggolan and splash out on a dedicated DM. Herrera isn't good enough as a DM and his games as the box to box will be limited if one of the above were to come in. Herrera has a great attitude and it's great how much he riles up other fans but bar doing hatchet jobs on Hazard he doesn't offer much in the big games as the box to box player imo and someone more athletic and powerful would make a lot of difference in there.

That said, it would be nice for one or two players to stay for next season :p

So he has talked about it overall in the context of bringing in a DM.

I dont agree with him but theres a bit more to his thought process than "lets sell Herrera, buy Barkley and play him instead" is all I`m saying.

His little cute face is unmistakable anyway :)

Edit: I see from Ander's wiki that his dad played for Celta from 1988-1989

It was the face and the way he is holding his arm that said Herrera to me.

12 points from the last 18 in 4th place of the form table it's a killer them draws.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

It's horrific. The funniest thing is that the draws that have killed us have been against teams we should routinely be putting away. The form against the other top 6 teams hasn't actually been bad this season.

    Played 8 (two to play)

    Won 2 (Spurs and Chelsea)
Lost 2 (City and Chelsea in September and October)
Drew 4 (Liverpool x2, Arsenal, City)

Should we manage to get something from the Arsenal and Spurs games that will be pretty respectable.

I know it's been said here millions of times but the worst part if the draws is we have only been outplayed maybe 4 times we deserved to win most of them games if we can build on it next year .

Yep, the two liverpool games and the two games we lost in were the only ones you could say we were outplayed in. Even the City loss we were the better side in the second half and should have had a point from that game had the ref not been a massive bottler.

Yep they have got their form back at the right time too. If anyone is in form to **** it up it's city they have nine from 18 I think if they keep that going it Would be another six points but they have played some big teams in them six games I think.

I think max liverpool will get in their final 3 games is 5 points. Us and city still basically have in our hands to not wreck the chance. I have a feeling southhampton will do us a massive favour this weekend it's up to us to capitalise and that is our downfall.

    Weekend of 7th May
West Ham Vs Spurs Fri 8pm
    City Vs Palace Sat 12.30
    Liverpool Vs Southampton Sun 1.30
    Arsenal Vs United Sun 4pm

Unless we beat Arsenal and one of Liverpool/City **** up this weekend then it's 100% gone imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,953 ✭✭✭JamboMac

True but Arsenal aren't great this season and with the constant hatred for arsene by the fans that may be leaking into the dressing room. Footballer's would rather blame a manager for their ineptitude.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Ah I think we'll beat them but without one of the others losing then there's no hope for me.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Lads, don't do it to yourselves. Top 4 is gone. Better to go into the rest of the games with zero expectations, sadly. :(

If we get to having it in our own hands again then I'll gain hope, as it stands now i have none.

Wonder why they'd need another striker ;)

They actually hope that by signing him will convince Griezmann to stay as they are very close friends.

Sorry to ruin your buzz :D

United have messed up every single chance they've had to get into the top 4 this year. What makes you think now will be any different?

United time to take advantage was when they had two games in hand and winning both would have jumped them above a few teams.

Injuries, suspensions and a chance of European success has taken its toll on the last few weeks but saying that there is always a chance with games to play.

Nice line up. Good to see Smalling on the bench and Bailly starting after the scare last weekend. That team should be well capable of putting Vigo away but you never know when Utd will turn up nowadays

Ever notice how much Mkhitaryan gives the ball away. Not sure the central role suits him as much as a wider role. Seems to always be marked tightly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

    Mkhitaryan needs to seriously improve.

That's the worst yellow I've ever seen.

Does the EL get refs on work experience or what?
