Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

True, sooner we take a stand now but based on the last few seasons, clubs know we need players

We over paid on plenty of transfers throughout the Fergie era, **** sake we paid 8m or something for Bebe, it's not a new thing no matter how hard you try to make it out to be Ed Woodwards fault

    I'm 31 I starting supporting the club when I was about 7.

Its okay to be realistic ya know.

Didn't we win the Premier League that season and then the next which started Uniteds dominance of English football? So his point stands.

Baffled by Jose's logic here. Why TF bring on Micki and Herrera now???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,597 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Tbh he can't win can he, no matter what he tries there is always going to someone

Hopefully the dying days of the Smalling and Rooney era

No way Rooney could get into Everton's team

Should we keep Jones? Surely not, most of the time he's the cause of the issues.

Whatever happens in the transfer window I hope we have a bit of back bone and don't bend over to clubs when we need to buy

Opposing teams must be delighted when they see us come looking for their players knowing that we're happy to pay fortune for bang average.

I suppose it doesn't help when our chief exec is telling everyone how much money we have to spend.

Subs are very weird to say the least. If Herrera gets injured our chances of winning the EL will take another hit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,597 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Jones has stood head and shoulders above Smalling this season only for his injuries.

8 mill for bebe was awful but sure we just gave 40 million to an agent.

My apologies I'm not 50 so okay lol.

Look all I'm saying is Ive never been a glory supporter for any team in any sport it's just horrible to think how we used to play and what we once where and think now that where not even comfortable against the most basic teams.

When I watch us now and then watch us years ago I think wow....

The players we bought last summer are not bang average. We need a more coherent transfer policy, but Pogba, Ibra, Bailly and Mkhitaryan are not bang average

Ye its shocking really, they'll have to bring in some rules to curb agent fees

    Rashers coming on is reckless.

No matter what the players need to be kept match fit, 10 min run out to keep him sharp

Also he will more than likely be playing during the week, he is not going to be wrapped in bubble wrap till the final. Nothing reckless about it. He could get injured at home ffs

Exactly sure there's just as much chance of getting injured in training maybe we should just keep all our 1st team in doors until the final!

They get payed to play its not going to kill them ha.

    This topic...

"why are we being so negative?"

"Oh my god, he's bringing on attacking players, why is he being so reckless?"

I know it's not the same people saying both but it shows there's no winning in a way.

Btw, I don't put it all on Jose either for "being negative"; it happens when we have a team of Rooney, Carrick, Jones, Smalling, Lingard...they haven't shown me much in recent times to say they are capable of anything other than this type of match

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

Jones has done ok, smalling not so much

Smalling is injured and Jones clears off the line... looks like Jones for the final so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,495 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

You will always worry about injuries but at the same time you don't want players going into the final having not played in two weeks, so I'm not particularly concerned at the likes of Herrera or Rashford coming onto the pitch.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

2-1 is better than I thought we'd do :pac:

Rashford should have done better at the end.

Under pressure so I can forgive him, easier shots this season missed

It's funny to think only a year ago people would be claiming today showed how invaluable Rooney is to us. :pac:

Really couldn't care less about the rest of the season in the league, just get to the EL final without more injuries and win the f***ing thing, please. All that matters at this point.

Might be ironic but we have perfect schedule for the finals. Play strongest team in the midweek and test them for weekend game, so that players will have proper game time and also get week rest before finals.

Better for the last half hour but too late by then.

    No problem with the subs.

Martial Utds man of the match imo with Bailly a close second.

The whole Spurs leaving White Hart Lane all game was bloody nauseating, sure their moving into Wembley for a season, and they'll literally be right next door to the old Lane.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,495 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

We could easily have gotten something there.

Still, another crap performance, and a few players continue to demonstrate their lack of worth.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Officially, that's top 4 gone for us too.

The EL experiment better pay off now.

Rooney, carrick and smalling gone in the summer I'd say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

Irrespective of the result today I'm delighted that Rooney took away the honour of the last ever goal at WHL from 'one of our own 'Arry Kane'.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Carrick was a mike off the pace today. Could be forgiven in the first half with who he had alongside him but even when it was changed he was really poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,134 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

Atleast we tried to be a little more positive towards the end, unfortunately it was too little too late.

@ Lucky Lloyd, I believe it was yourself I had a €50 charity bet with that we would get top 4 this year, it's officially gone now so name your charity and I will do the honours.

That was pretty much what I expected. I'll be in Albufeira for the final so hopefully I can get to see the game in peace and enjoy it. A win will delight me. A loss will make me unhappy thinking of all the mistakes made this season and the dread of being in the Europa League again next Season. I'm already getting the nervous feeling 10 days out.

Yeah might have Rooney sent for the deliberate handball when he was already booked

Should have Jones booked, sent off too for fouling dele alli in the box 96 min.

Kane would have buried the peno had the ref not decided to blow up for full time instead of the peno.

Also Rooney won't be getting any credit for that own goal his shot was going wide before Jan flicked it in.

Heard the chap on sky say that was Manu first away goal all season against a top 6 team! Typical jammy Manu that we had to score it for you lol

Ha yeah Jones should have been sent off for Ali diving.

Poor effort. Such a nonsense post and so bitter in victory.

I heard that alright, but it's the hyping up of them leaving the Lane, you'd swear no other team in football have ever left their stadiums before. Then again Sky Sports do love to hype stuff up.
