    I am visiting a friend for the first time in Belfast and wanted to bring her some items from the uk. Are there any items you can't get in Belfast that I can get here?

    You do realise that Belfast is in the UK and the Republic of Ireland is not?

    It's really not clear what you are asking.

    <snip>

    It's really not clear what you are asking.

    It seems clear to me. There is no ambiguity.

    Some things can be bought in specific parts of Great Britain; conversely, some can't. Seems reasonable to ask on a board that covers the whole of Ireland to ask what stuff people might not be able to find in NI that is easily available in GB.

    A friendly response to a first-time visitor to NI would have been appropriate.

    <mod-snip> Queentutti, maybe it would help if you told us what area in the UK you'll be travelling from? Maybe there's something regional you could bring?

    I am in Liverpool. I was only asking as I know Belfast have certain brands of foods that we don't have here.

    Mod note: Queentutti, I've moved this to the Belfast City forum because the people here will be in a better position to advise you :)

    Is your friend into beer? When I moved to Belfast the one thing I missed from our time in England was beer from local breweries...

    Can't think of any sweets etc that can be gotten in England that can't here unless it's something particular to a local shop...

    I think this is correct. Perhaps your best bet would be to give us some suggestions of the most unusual things available in Liverpool and someone can tell you if it can be gotten in Belfast. Virtually any mass market product that is available in the UK in general will be available in Belfast.
