Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelsea XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Ake; Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Trippier, Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Dembele, Son, Eriksen, Alli, Kane

Hopefully the bird flu, SARS, bubonic plague, cholera, typhoid fever, typhus, malaria, influenza, polio, and smallpox epidemic does not affect Chelsea that much.

    What channel is this on?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Costa not starting is understandable. No Hazard though is really strange.

    BBC1.

No Hazard is a huge surprise considering the small amount of games Chelsea have played this season.

Weird that the pre match commentary on BBC 1 has all been about Spurs.

Is this all about bigging spurs up re title challenge etc? Feed the marketing machine?

On the other hand six semi defeats in a row, that streak has to end at some point.

Looks like Conte is putting his eggs in the PL basket, resting Hazard and Costa. Fantastic opportunity for Spurs this evening. 2-0 to Spurs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,592 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Probably expecting spurs to stick Dembele as a man marker on Hazard

Can't see past a Spuds win.

Interesting team selection from Chelsea , can't wait to see how Ake does.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

    Very strong Spurs side.

I would love to see Batman have a good game, might be the kick up the arse Costa needs if he sees some genuine competition for his place. I'm happy to see Hazard rested. I'd love to win the cup but I have a lot of faith in Conte's decisions.

    Maybe Conte is a genius.

    Hazard who ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

BOOM! Always get excited when I see Willian lining up a free.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Willian!!! Class act.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    Brutal from Lloris.

    Cracking free kick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,592 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Thought Lloris was poor there. It wasn't exactly in near the post

Costa has been a passenger for a few months now. Hazard is a strange one though, maybe he's picked up the virus that Moses and a few others had last weekend?

Excellent free kick! 1-0 off the back of a brilliantly fluid counter attack.

Akes had a confident and solid start

"One of best if not the best goalkeeper in the league" said Alan shearer in the build up... Muahahahahaahaha

So much for that forecast then!
    :(
Down to Lloris and Alderweireld, that goal. Poor tackle, even if Pedro did milk it. And Lloris gambling by taking a step the wrong way and not being able to get back.

And? Just because you make an error does not make it untrue

Spurs are all over the shop, is the pitch too big? ;)

    The crowd sounds dead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Spurs probably had a game plan to deal with Hazard and Costa , they look a bit lost already.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Crackle

I wasn't condfident about Chelsea's chances beforehand, regardless of the lineup.

I'm happy enough with what I've seen so far. Costa being dropped is long overdue.

Ake has made a bright start too.

Error or not Courtois and Mignolet would probably be ahead of him.

Should of stopped at "one of", the best in the league are well ahead of him.

Jesus Turty you may lay off the wine... Lloris is a far better keeper than Ming.

    Mignolet ahead of Lloris?

    Bizzare.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Michy has started really well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Mignolet might be having an alright run at the moment (haven't seen much of him lately so can't say) but he's not on Lloris' level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Batman should've done a lot better with that header. I imagine he didn't expect to have so much time for it.

    Great from Kante there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

It just feels like Chelsea have an extra man always an option open always an extra man to press.

Spurs passing sub par so far.

Harry Kane really has become some goalscorer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

FFS. Took way too long to get out after that corner.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Chelsea's tactic seems to be to kick everything in sight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,368 ✭✭✭MonkieSocks

I think think Contes decision to leave out Costa and Hazard is. he thinks Spurs back three lack pace.
