Huge match. A Madrid win should see them crowned champions in a few weeks time, but a Barcelona win puts huge pressure on Madrid to win their game in hand.

Instinct says Madrid will win or a draw. Barca need a win, though with Madrid's busier end to the season, there's still a chance of them slipping up.

I wonder how Barca will respond after failing to win the last big game they needed to win.

Been a fantastically entertaining weekend of football, especially the much maligned FA cup semi finals.

Gonna tune into this tonight and hope it's as enjoyable.

Wow, Madrid's bench alone is a couple of levels ahead of Barcelona's. Barca need to go in to HT at least a goal up to stand any chance of winning I reckon. Real should be playing three at the back tonight because with Neymar missing, there won't be an awful lot happening out wide, and Barca can't seem to break down a packed penalty area. Just my two cents on the match. Madrid by two goals.

No Neymar is a huge blow. The difference in the quality of benches is sickening. But way too many people writing off a starting 11 that includes Pique, Busquets, Iniesta, Suarez and Messi. Believe.

It reminds me of the team in 2013. Almost the same players as you've mentioned as well, shïte then, shïte now. Something needs to change this off-season, and not just the manager. Front 3 have been papering over the cracks for a long time now.

Same players that contributed to a treble in 2015 though...

Not sure those players are the problems. There's a lot of problems at the club but those guys aren't one of them.

This reminds me of Rijkaard's last Clasico when they lost 4-1 to a then pretty mediocre Real team. Hope Barca play better than they did that night.

there's definitely some similarities with that night if it starts to go badly, but that was a dreadful performance on the end of a dreadful season and a largely splintered squad. I don't think this side is quite there

The front 3 absolutely caught fire that year, and whilst it was probably amongst the most comprehensive of champions league campaigns since its inception, I still strongly believe that this team has been in regression for the past year at the very least.

The team has been relying on the same core of players since 2009, give or take a few players. A rebuild is needed, around Messi while he still has 2-3 seasons left at the top. Barcelona need to maximise their opportunities left with Messi, and it'd be madness not to.
