Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Correct but Barca players surrounding the ref and pulling up the card hand shouldn't be tolerated either
Real players would do the same in that situation. He should've been off.

Unlike some unsportsmanlike behaviour, it'd be a piece of piss to stamp that out by only allowing captains to approach the ref.

It's astonishing that that hasn't been implemented.

Unlike Rugby where there's a degree of game management going on between the captains and the ref, there's never anything players need to say to the refs in football. Ever.

He is a hatchet man ,should have had 3 yellow cards against Bayern ,could have had 3 again tonight .

Ya, he should be off but Real dont have any replacememt to do a similar job.

So he'll probably stay on, surely the ref told him one more and you go and when yourr man marking Messi, thats a dangerous game to play for 45mins when youve had 2 questionable fouls already.

    Really enjoyable game so far.

Benzema and Suarez have been poor enough and Bale was diabolical and I'd say would have been subbed if he hadn't went off injured.

Messi looks in top form tonight.

Should have been a penalty awarded to Real in the first couple of minutes but of course the ref obviously forgot which team he was supposed to be biased in favour of.

I don't care If they would
I'm making the point that it's not right regardless of who does it
Stop trying to find an issue

Pure joke. You can't tell me this isn't corrupt. When the one team is held to a completely different standard by officials to the rest of the teams in the league then the league is corrupt. Marcelo not even getting a yellow is jaw-dropping, but Casemiro not being sent off is sickening in it's sheer contempt for the sport and the intelligence of football fans watching it.

Hey you forgot to include the peno Ronaldo should of had

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Both teams are dropped a level since 5-6 years ago.

Messi has been the best player on the pitch. Ronaldo playing well too. But Suarez,Benzema,Alcacer & Bale before going off have been very poor.

Real have been getting away with this all season long.
They've been out played in alot of games and had to rely on referees to pull them through .

Barcelona are by far the better team tonight ,Real have been very poor .

It's horrible to talk about a referee when the greatest footballer ever is out there being the greatest footballer ever. It's a Messi masterclass.

There isn't that much of a difference between them in fairness.

Also you and AIG seem to have forgotten that Real should have been awarded a penalty in the first couple of minutes.

If he stays on ,he will definitely be sent off ,as Messi is playing well and is too slippery for a hatchet man like Casemiro to handle.

Did he miss that chance for dramatic effect then?

Stealing this blatantly from Twitter but anyone saying that was a sitter at the end of the half has never played football in their life. It was a chance, but far from a sitter.

Bale abject, Benzema, Suarez poor, Ronaldo average, Neymar missing so that leaves Messi as the only headline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,297 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Some people are very hard to please ,its a very open game and far better than the last few Classicos ,which were very poor spectacles.

Maybe it have been easier if he had a few defenders in front of him and was 25 yards out.

It was a great chance. If he used his right foot he probably would have scored.

Casimero should be off is the major point in that incident

Could have but ball arrives so quickly, so unexpectedly and at such an awkward angle his body movement is instinctive. For me, wasn't even the best chance of the half outside of the goals.

    He's still on

    wow that's really poor managing

When people say sitter, they kind of mean it in a semi sensationalist meaning!

But what would you know about sensationalist dialogue :D

No recovering from that Sergio. Its one thing I hate about El Classico is the sheer amount of simulation from both sides

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,814 ✭✭✭irishman86

    And again

    Great saves from both keepers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

    Real should've had a penalty
They should also have a red card
    Messi is the best ever
    Ter Stegen playing well

    1-1 about right for me

    Big miss from Alcacer.

God that's an awful call from the ref. How did he think that was a foul

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

    That's no free kick either

Gerry Armstrong should not be commentating on an u8's match let along El Classico.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Rezident

Wtf is luis enrique wearing? Is he going to a 1980's fancy dress after?

  • Save!!

Alcacer is no where near good enough for Barcelona. How they thought he would be is mental

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,814 ✭✭✭irishman86

Neither of the big two done anything this half

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,050 ✭✭✭✭The Talking Bread

Mbappe scores again. Guess he will be playing this fixture soon enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,603 ✭✭✭lassykk

Ha, they've both done it now. Ronaldo's was easier though in fairness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Ronaldo misses a sitter. Messi would have scored that.
