Cant post anonymously?

    Hey, hope this is the right place to post this.

    Basically what the title says, I can't post anonymously on boards for some reason, I keep getting the message the country I am posting from is banned due to spam but Im in Ireland.

    Any idea what he problem is?

    IP addresses from certain countries are not allowed to post anonymously. It may be that your IP address is linked to one of those countries, even though you're based in Ireland.

    Is there a way of finding that out?

    If that is the case its not intentional.

    If you're using Windows, please do the following:

    For Windows users, here is how you can find your IP address. First, click the Start Menu, and select Run. Next, type ''cmd'' into the box and click the ''OK'' button. Finally, at the prompt, type ''ipconfig'' and information about your IP Address will be displayed.

    Reply here with your IP address. All posts in this forum are pre-moderated (is they do not appear in public until approved) so your IP address will remain confidential and will not be shared with all.

    Or just go to http://icanhazip.com/ instead.

    Dudaras method is flawed since it could just show an internal address, and not the actual public one.

    Hi Will,

    There's a known bug whereby users with an IPV6 address (which you have) cannot post anonymously. The dev lads are currently investigating a fix but I don't have a timeline for a fix as of yet.
