Tenants in Common - maximum number

Is there a maximum number of tenants in common for one property? My research shows that there is a limit of 4 in UK law. Is it the same, or unlimited?
I am looking at a will that has more than 4 named as tenants in common, but not sure if that is possible?

On some of the upland areas in the West of Ireland the number of tenants in common exceeds 500. That is before intestacies arise regarding the various holdings
