Changing from 52-36 to 50-34: New FD required?

    I'm thinking of temporarily replacing a 52-36 chainset with a 50-34. Will the current FD (Dura Ace 9000) work with the smaller chain rings? Or do I have to put on the 50-34 specific FD too?

    I replaced a 52-36 with a 50-34 last year, Sram group set.
    I had no issues. I don't see why there should be a problem with Shimano.

    Same derailleur will work fine. You'll just need to drop the derailleur a little I'd imagine, to have it closer to the chainrings. Small cable tension adjustment after that too.

    Yep that's all, just slide the front mech down a couple of mill from the big ring. You'll have to let off the cable tension first though.
