Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Move from tax to financial accounting

Hi. I've worked in tax practice for the last 7 years but did ACA accounting exams during my training.

I would like to move into financial accounting in industry. I have the qualification, no experience but obviously working in tax means understanding and analysing accounts everyday.

Has anyone made this move or any advice on how to do it? Could I get in to a financial accountant role? Would a (online?) course in SAP / Oracle / other be useful? Are they expensive?

The main reason for the move is there are more accounting jobs in my area than tax and I would like to work part time which narrows the field a bit. Also I've always liked financial accounting.

    Tia

It might be easier to move in steps - move to tax in industry and then to financial accounting.

Is there much work available overall?

    That's true.

Tax jobs come up every so often. There are always accounting jobs, usually asking for experience.
