Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, question for you, is rapidplay games worth doing? we're off to Limerick on Friday to play in the National Secondary School Final's, do players benefit from this type of game or are they better off playing the standard game? Let us know what you think. Cheers Dave BCCC. The Knights Of Eanna.

    Dave,
Any form of competitive chess will be beneficial for your young players.
The best way they will improve quickly however will be to play full proper rated games. You should see very quick improvement if they commit to the longer games.
This weekends Malahide weekender is a good Dublin based Weekender to get a rating, whilst the city of Dublin in september may also suit your juniors starting out.
Alex Bs monthly rapid tournaments are a very proven learning group for a lot of the top Dublin/Leinster based juniors, although most of your players are probably over-aged. Your first/second years should still consider it.
Galway rapid is a very good tournament, although the standard may be high if your guys are just starting out.
Also consider the Bray rapid which normally takes place on a Sunday in late June.
Next years O Sullivan should also prove beneficial to your squad, as there are a good mix of teams in both divisions.

Best of luck to Coláiste Éanna this Friday
