Hi there,we live in a place about a year and a half,we resigned a lease with the letting agent after a year, one of the agents from that letting agents has gone out on there own as an agent and started their own business who apparently now our new letting agent after the landlord decided to move her properties with him when he went,is our contract still valid with a new place,we didn't sign anything with this new business,we signed it with the original agency of which he was just an employee.
We want to move so not sure if we would be breaking a contract or not, just looking for some advice before we approach the agent, this is in England but any advice would be helpful.
    thanks

Your tenancy agreement is a contract.
The contract is between you and your landlord, not his agent. The terms of the contract are set out in the contract. Your answer to your question is most likely there.

Most agents in England use a 6 month assured short hold tenancy. The terms of this contract are quite flexible. But without seeing your contract who knows. Have a read, it's not a very complex document.
