Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm still under the covers, but need to get out soon. It looks cold and miserable outside and I wanna stay where it's warm and cosy :(

But is it fair that someone assumes they are more stable than you? I mean it's an assumption and can keep people from expressing how they are feeling. The word "stable" is also fairly subjective. We are different and we all have struggles. I would hate if this forum stopped being a place where people could be honest about whats going on for them.

Oh no like I agree with you on that I just wasn't going to get annoyed like you and Seph because of my own mental position.

Exactly he can keep his assumptions to himself, I could relate to what gremmy was saying hence why I posted my experience of it, didn't appreciate being called "unstable" for it.

I didn’t assume anything. It was a light hearted joke obviously lost in the delivery. I don’t have any of the issues some of you post about on here, so I can’t empathise and thus don’t post or offer comment when someone does talk about their issues. I’m more than happy to bow out of this forum if you think I’m an asshole for trying to be light hearted.

It's ok to not offer comment when someone posts about something you don't understand. Sure I do that myself. I was just just struck by your assumption is all. I don't experience high levels of anxiety or much of what the people here sometimes do. That doesn't mean I see myself as being more "stable" or that I can't empathise. I certainly don't think you're an asshole and wouldn't want you to leave the forum.

It was supposed to be ironic. I certainly don’t see myself as any more or less stable than anyone here. Sure, everyone has issues to some degree, I just choose not to share them here. I’d be willing to bet that no one here would be able to empathise with me anyway. Again, it was a light hearted joke, not meant to offend

Fair enough. I didn't cop the irony. My apologies if I made you feel picked on in any way.

I didn't have to wait long surprisingly but the appointment went bad. I told him that the pain feels worse and he reduced my painkillers.

It's not. We've talked about it a lot and it has gotten nowhere.

Yeah. I'd love to know how to deal with pain.

I think i was put on a wait list for a cbt course relating to pain specifically, though feck knows when that would come through.

    Work o clock *sigh*

I was told something about a pain specialist down in cork but my consultant wasn't interested in going down that route.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Regional West Moderators Posts: 60,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gremlinertia

Ah, there is a consultant, hmm. If pain is interfering with education and general life i think i'd discuss again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,749 ✭✭✭Shpud2

It doesn't tend to interfere much. Just makes things harder.

I've kept journals to show daily effects on mobility, appetite, difficulty in ordinary tasks, relationships etc. Can be an eye opener in some cases. However i'm very aware i don't know your situation so these are just personal experiances

I struggle to keep a diary as it is I don't think I could manage a one on all those things. Sounds like a good idea though.
