7 years ago you wouldn't have seen change of 3grand for a unit that size.

Nice piece of gear alright, but sickening that it'll cost €400 more here than in the states.

Are you mad ? $699 in the USA, €1,000 in Europe, and €1,400 in Ireland, because ye know "ehh ehh, import duty ehh tax and stuff". Its the Irish way.

It has a 30mm tube size and crosshairs. I wonder would our deer poaching community find an illicit use for them ?

No doubt hideously expensive and with so many ITAR and state dept export prohibitions on moving it outside CONUS,we will be waiting at least another decade for it .

    Ermm proably not.
As a lamp is still cheaper.
The one that was demmoed at IWA didn't have any cross hairs for that simple reason ,weapons mountable NV is still illegal in Germany[including thermal] so no doubt it will be a specific EU model sans X hairs.
There already are quick detachable weapon mountable units for sale in the UK at about a grand +/-
Why would any Irish "poacher" waste that kind of money on equipment when they know the worst is a slap on the wrist, loss of a license for a few years and maybe a few quid fine?

The units aren't recoil proof in some cases.IOW rifle recoil from the shots will proably bugger up the electronics pretty quick.

Thermal doesn't work well thru glass so mounting it on a day scope isn't going to get any or very poor X hair pictures

That said ,I could certainly see it as a great tool for you spotter of your gang to check out an area for unwelcome surprises like cammoed up rangers etc keeping tabs on your activities. But then again, why would they be even worried about that in the 1st place?
