    Folks

You might be able to help me. Im depending on your generosity as Im a long time advocate of RicherSounds and customer that has bought numerous items (-:

Three years ago I bought a 64" Samsung end of line F8500 (not off RicherSounds). This was after your stock of panasonic and samsung plasmas was gone, so I went elsewhere and got the standard One year warranty.
The TV has developed an issue that Ive been informed is the panel itself, so I went looking for a quote to fix it. The Samsung authorised service providers simply said they're not made anymore and you're out of luck. This was over the phone.  Now as you folk know this was not a cheap TV.

So my question is hypothetical. If I did get the TV off yourselves what would be done in this scenario and do Samsung really have no parts for a 3 year old flagship TV?
    Thanks in advance
    Smithy

    Hi Smithy.

Sorry to hear of the issues that you are having.

Unfortunately I could not comment about that company saying they can't get the parts to fix this screen.
You could try calling Samsung directly and speaking to a member of there customer service team. They should be able to tell you straight away if parts are not available.
Out of interest which service centre are you dealing with?

For us, as pretty much all our TV's have came with our free 6 year guarantee for the last year or so. If parts become unavailable then under our 6 year we would replace the TV for a like for like version.
This would be the same if a customer had paid for our 6 year guarantee also.

    Hope this helps a little.

Any questions please drop me a post.

It just shows how important that warranty is when spending a bit more. I rang Samsung and they had an authorised service centre from Rathcoole Co.Dublin call me. Quick conversation, yeah its the panel, you're out of luck, good luck, seeya!!

I realise the panel would have cost quite a bit to get fixed, but I was willing to entertain that option, given the quality of the TV.

Ah well, lesson learned, expensive lesson at that, although as I said you were out of stock, the Panny VT 65" was my first choice.

    Thanks for the reply ;)

PM sent John. Many thanks indeed, and just to reiterate, this is in no way related to RS. I just thought you guys may have encountered this scenario with this Plasma. Thanks again.

Fingers crossed you get sorted in repairing your TV.
