Okay so I'm looking at upgrading my old TP Link router to a new one that has a USB connection to allow me to connect my USB 3.0 external HDD to it and hopefully stream content to any machine on my network. I'm just looking for confirmation that this will be possible with the new router and using something like Plex as the software, or is there anything better out there?

Old router is this one :- https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-Wireless-Router-Button-TL-WR841N/dp/B001FWYGJS

New router I'm looking at is this one :- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01I3HFUJW/

I'm also hoping the new one will give some performance boosts etc. Budget for the new router is around €50 so if there is anything better out there I'm open to suggestions.

It can do it, but much more basic than plex.
