Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hoping this is a good phone now, I am coming from a OP2 so it should be a massive upgrade.

Will be very interested to see the OP5, think I'll let CEX take my update-free HTC 10 off my hands to part-pay for it.

Out of interest, have you an unlocked HTC 10 or one that was got from one of the networks?

Unlocked from the UK. There's something seriously wrong with their EMEA set-up on the software side. Their EMEA Head of Products, Graham Wheeler, has been silent on Twitter since the beginning of May, having been quite active. 2 OTAs to US unlocked in the last month, complete silence over here.

Tried pointing this out in the U11 thread, only for someone to get a bit hurt about it. I wouldn't mind, except the 7.0 update hit the battery hard.

i dunno what happened to htc updates with the 10. there's something suspect going on in the background software side. the us got nougat before xmas, and have had most security updates. the wwe version had nougat pushed out to well after xmas, and has had nothing since. it's nothing like i've seen before from them. also very strange because they have gone back to being very close to stock, so shouldn't be as affected by android updates as they were in the past when sense was a heavier skin.

Cheers. Definite food for thought there, I always thought they'd been good for updates.

Me too, it was a big factor with me choosing the 10. Meanwhile, Oneplus seem to be seriously on the ball, comparatively. And the 10 is being lapped by the Nextbit Robin, ffs.

We have corroborated this information with a second source and are highly confident this is an accurate image

A screenshot of OnePlus 5 posted by the CEO all but confirms that the upcoming smartphone will flaunt a full HD display.

The Weibo image spotted by AndroidHeadlines, has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, which subsequently confirms the display resolution of the OnePlus 5

    oneplus-5-display-teaser.jpg

Kinda disappointing not to get a resolution bump after 3 full HD devices...

I do not feel the need for a higher resolution screen on a 5.5 inch screen tbh.

I know all the other manufacturers have done it for the past number of years but to me personally I can do with out.

Looks like it but it's a phone that should last you 2 years at least with those specs. Treat it like an investment!

Who needs 8 gig of RAM in a phone?? Total overkill.

Any word on the battery? Still happy with my one plus three but would upgrade if it has a better battery

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,320 ✭✭✭davo2001

If they go the €500+ route, especially if it's for a 64GB version they are going to lose a lot of customers, myself included, I've bought the OPO and the OP3 but no way in hell am I paying €500.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,399 ✭✭✭xtal191

I'll be very surprised if its not over €500, every release has been getting more expensive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,207 ✭✭✭maximoose

My Oneplus One is still going strong as ever, looked at upgrading to the 2 / 3 / 3T when they launched but didn't really need to as performance was still great.

Was considering finally retiring it for a 5 when it launches but if it's priced >€500 they've completely lost what made Oneplus attractive in the first place.

is there going to be a headphone jack in this I wonder.

if there isn't I may have to keep my OPO for another while.

If it is I'll be considering spending a few more beans on the Samsung S8 (€590 on Amazon.it). I don't think it will be over €500 though, the Indians would go nuts.

I think they will price it around €485. Hard to see them going over €500 because they know they'll loose a lot of customers.

I've bought two OPO, a Ceramic OPX and a OP2 and I think it's time to upgrade again after convincing myself I didn't need the 3/3T last year :)

Looks like the prices will be over €500 and the high spec will touch nearly €600.

Fairly high...considering an S8 can be got for around €600

I fcuking hate when phone companies have different amounts of RAM, for different memory capacities.

It irrationally sends me into a rage haha!

6gb ram is plenty future-proofing for me.

Although at the rumoured prices, I'm in 2 minds.

I wouldn't pay much heed to them, the site says "Expected" pricing.
But if they are right, then I'm all in for the HTC U11 instead :)
