Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's 30 minutes we'll never get back. Both sides are toothless.

Ref sees Tadic holding his leg so gives a free kick out of sympathy.

I really hope Klopp makes an early change.

Never has done unless an injury dicatated it.
    Doubt he'll do so today.

Missed the first 30 mins, anything happen of note?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

At least klopp is showing intensity because the players are not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Ref has fallen for Tadic''s playacting there.

Will Klopp be in trouble for throwing that water bottle in anger? Might not be ideal having to manage one of the remaining game from the stands...

Klopp's jaw nearly went into the crowd there :pac:

Looked liked Lucas caught him on second viewing TBF.

No. Not even anything of slight note.

A guys glasses fell off and Clyne gave them back to him and Tadic fell over, squeeled and rolled around and got a free kick.

    That's about it.

How was that a Soton throw?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Gabbiadini telling Lucas to shut up while Lucas is letting him know the ref wants a word with him.

What the **** is Bobby M doing? He is one of those refs who is all hat and no cattle.

We need half time changes, Southampton aren't even putting in much effort and we can't get into the box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,508 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Badly need a change.

    Milner is having a shocker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,280 ✭✭✭Glico Man

Moreno having to entertain himself there flipping the water bottle... and failing to stick the landing :pac:

I think there's an element of pressure at play here, this isn't a must win for us but it's not far off it and we don't seem to be handling the occasion at all well.

    No foul on Clyne..somehow.

Dreadful stuff altogether. Like the last few weeks if the opposition score Liverpool are in major trouble. Origi looks like he is still lost in Watford out there.

    Milner is having a shocker

I'm not sure you know what a shocker is!

If they were both at why not let the one go earlier when Liverpool were breaking and the Southampton player went down

    ******

Rafa and his Newcastle side won the Championship.

There were about 15 players within the width of the Soton peno area just then

We look like we could play for days here and not score. Terribly one dimensional stuff so far. Lallana/Sturridge for Lucas/Origi at some point surely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

    Surely that's a reckless challenge

Brighton fair blew that league, all they needed was 1 win in the last 3 & only got 1 draw against 10 man Villa.

OK, it mightnt be Moreno esque but he has been poor. Missed simple clearances and awful positioning coupled with terrible passing (bar one cross into the box with his left).

Pace of Mane really missed here. Nobody stretching the Southampton defence in behind.

Klopp rarely makes changes early on. He generally leaves it to around the 70 minute mark.

If we're going to be floating crosses in then we at least need players crowding the box to make something of it.

    I'm out,

I've wasted far too much of my life watching sh1t games like this, only to be very pi$$ed off at full time as I end up watching the whole game.

I dont really care in general about Liverpool, but I really hope they win as that would mean possibly 5 teams from England next year.
Add in the fact that Liverpool can put up a good fight against bigger teams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

We just can't break defences down, playing far too narrow and just doing the same thing over and over up front with the same results.

Not enough spark up front to cause problems.

There is literally no point in playing a ball to Clyne beyond the halfway line.

Totally shut down and locked up - Southampton have it spot on thus far

Hopefully that won't be our undoing.

It'll be too late if we get a suckerpunch.

Soon as they gained promotion the team went into holiday mode. The team that really blew their chances was Leeds imo. Cant believe that they didn't even make the play-offs.

But this is what every 'lower' team does against us now and we have no solutions.

Then you see City tear Palace apart yesterday. It's very frustrating.

Yep, the "secret" of what to do against us is out.

Need to get Lallana on immediately, no point waiting another 15-20 minutes. I'd probably have Moreno on too, if we need attacking width he's far better than Milner.

He is very frustrating in the second half of the pitch, he always seems to receive the ball in a bit of space but as soon as he is closed down he plays it backwards. He just never seems to take a risk and take his man on. Serious improvement needed from him in the final third.

It has been out since Burnley beat us in the second game of the season and I don''t understand why Klopp doesn't do something different then as he knows teams are going to play this way against us.

Although he can't defend, cross or tackle like Milner can.

I'd be holding off on that one.

Lallana yes, Moreno no, he's a complete clustefúck that can cost teams games.

I would bring Sturridge on as he has more craft and guile than Origi.

Lallana for Origi and then shift Firmino to centre up front. But it has to be now, not at 70 mins. Cant really afford to drop points here.

Southampton aren't attacking at all, I'd rather us have an attacking threat at fullback right now, and Milner's crossing is atrocious.

Also Moreno has far better link up play with Coutinho than Milner, having him running on the overlap ives Coutinho space.
