Another novice reporting from the side of M1. I guess these are all things to learn for the big day.

Note to self: leave kids at home. :)

Haha true!!! Well looks like everyone is in the same spot. My hubby is pacing so looks like they won't be there either so I guess they'll have to delay the start

Has anyone tried exiting the M1 at the Aiport and going in through swords . Is it just as bad ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,083 ✭✭✭sillymoo

This is actually so dangerous, we will be lucky if there isn't an accident on the M1, people out of cars chatting on the motorway and cars whizzing past in the right lane, the gardaí sped past about 15mins ago and have seen none since. I have certainly learned from this for marathon day - walk to the start line!!!! If this wasn't a motorway I'd be tempted to turn around and go home. Still have to go to the help desk to try get a new number also..... oh lord give me strength

There is a way to get from swords to Turvey avenue on back roads .

Ah thanks a million, don't mind the kids, I will take them. :D Its alright, they are reasonably well behaved now, promise of the playground at the destination is enough, for now. Oh wait, they have dug out their tablets. Hmm I am considering walking.. on M1.
