Last physio session done :eek:

Not nearly as painful as previous sessions and he said he went as deep so that is good. He said it's not 100% but it's not bad now at all He still said 50/50 for me to finish but I'll take that

He taped up the knee again and the ITB on the opposite side!! I'm a crock :rolleyes:

I'm finally starting to feel the first flickers of excitement :eek:

Good luck to all the novices and 'not so novices' running on Sunday.

I have thoroughly enjoyed lurking here since the start of this thread and reading through all the posts.

I may never get to run a marathon myself so it was great to get an idea of the ups and downs of the training program.

To those of you not running due to injury or sickness I wish you all a speedy recovery and hope to read about your marathon journey next year.

Have a great day on Sunday, enjoy every step.

Best of luck to everyone on here. I did my first marathon in February and it was a fantastic experience.

Sure, you'll feel nervous around now, wondering can you do that extra 10/12km that you haven't covered. But once you get out there, the adrenaline and spirit of fellow runners will carry you all the way. Remember once you get to the 32km mark, its just a 10k, then its just a parkrun, then its just christ Im nearly there.

Try get some sleep/rest, but if you don't and you wake up 2 hours before you are supposed to, its ok. It happens most of us.

And just before you cross that start line, think of the 50-80 runs that have brought you to where you are, about to start. You're ready, hell you've been ready since last f**king Monday week.

Hmmm I'm still wondering about getting the bus in from Clondalkin or driving the van in to the expo tomorrow. If driving, would be there around the 1pm. Bus or van would you say? LWB sprinter

Just a quick heads up re the bags for the bag drop area. I was speaking to one of the organising team at the expo this afternoon and he was explaining why the bags are clear this year. It is, in light of recent events, a security precaution. It enables all the staff to pretty much see what is inside the bag. If you separate after race clothes, from pre race clothes, from keys/ bank cards etc in separate non see through bags within the large bag you are likely to be asked to open them for security checking. He advised that any small/ valuable items be put in pockets of garments within the official clear bag.

It was very smooth today at 4pm in and out in 15mins , which included buying a couple of pairs of Hoka's. Parked about 400m's away from the door was going to stick the run on Strava first bit of running in ages worrying that I was breathing hard jogging to the door of RDS.

Good info, thanks S. I had planned on double bagging. Does that mean they’ll just check what’s in it and leave it alone then?

I didn't go into too much detail with him. I listened to what he said, nodded politely, muttered something about what's the world coming to, smiled and thanked him.

I would think that if they have to open all bags it will slow up the process for everyone. Probably best to save them the bother.

There's a big loading bay outside Paddy Cullens pub across the street from the entrance. People tend to park in them on Saturdays though so I dunno.
