What is applicable if the following circumstances:
    • Pregnant women in employment for past 14 months
    • Prior to 14 months, she was in college for 1 year (sent from Social Welfare).
    • 2 months before going on maternity leave.
She found out her company is closing down in around 1 month time.

I assume she would go on Jobseeker Benefit, but the main question is here whether she would still be entitled for Maternity Leave benefit?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

8 weeks before maternity leave she would be starting her maternity benefit.

Say the due date is 1st August & last day in the company 31st May.

I thought it is usually 2 weeks before the due date, but might be wrong...

You can start your maternity Benefit any time once you made a PRSI contribution within the 25th week of your pregnancy.
So, you can start your maternity benefit at 26 weeks gestation if you like and any time after that.
