Watching Shay Elliot on Sunday

Quote from Bray Wheelers "Spectators planning on watching the race unfold at Glenmalure will need to allow time to take a viewing spot by 12.25 for the A3 and Junior race, with the riders in the A1 and A2 race scheduled to follow 13.38 later."

Don't want to trouble the organisers directly but from experience, does anyone know do they completely close the Shay Elliot ( descent ) on Sunday for a couple of hours or can you slowly and safely drive up during the time period between races, obviously pulling in etc. for oncoming cyclists.

    Many thanks

The road is open to traffic throughout the day. The SHA3 should go over the top some time between 1230-1300 with the Elliott following between 1345-1415 so if anyone that needs to go to drive up during the day, or plans on heading there for the races could avoid driving up against the race during those two particular slots if would be great - but other than that no problem at all.

Well worth going to spectate, a crowd of us cycled up last year and it's amazing to see lads absolutely thundering up the climb, plus you get a good quality spin in too!
