Gaming PC Build Help - Budget ?2500

Hi all,

Would greatly appreciate some help with a PC build. Ideally would like to have it sent to me already assembled and don't mind paying extra for that either. Purely want this to be a powerhouse that I can max games on and do some intense video editing, photoshop etc.

Your help is much appreciated as I'm not up to speed on the latest and best graphics cards etc, it's been a few years since I have had a PC capable of playing anything to a decent standard.

2500, id be looking at a 1080ti for the gpu anyway with that budget, and as you said intense video editing id suggest getting a amd ryzen cpu, maybe the r7 1700

1080Ti & G-Sync monitor are probably overkill, but you have the budget for it.
Monitor & case best bought on Amazon for warranty & shipping.

Solid build. I'd drop the PSU down to something around 550W. Given B350, he won't be running dual GPU, and won't need the power. I'd then use the savings towards a 500GB OS drive. I find 250GB to be a little snug at times. To each their own though.

The beauty of an over-powered (high-efficiency) PSU is that it can run silent at 50% load.

Point taken, although I'd question how much a PSU fan will contribute to overall system noise when you factor in case fans, mechanical HDD, GPU fans, and AIO pump.

(I never realised until recently how loud HDDs actually are. They're very noticeable if there's not much else going on)

I'd go 27" at least for that resolution tbh. And a Gsync as well. Totally worth it and there is a few quid left over from K.O.Kiki's build for one as well.

Amazing, thank you. I'll look at getting the case and stuff from Amazon. Not sure should I brave building it myself or finding someone in Cork to do it for me.

I'd up the monitor to Dell's g-sync 27" inch. Have one and they're fantastic. You'd still be within budget.

Thanks all for the help. Just pulled the trigger on it all.

Bumped the monitor to the 27 inch Gsync, bumped the SSD to the 512GB version and the Seagate to a 4TB version.

Will just pick out a kb and mouse now and then look at VR possibilities haha! Will look to get this put together by someone else so if anyone knows a reliable person in Cork for this, would appreciate it.

Nice, the corsair high end cases are fantastic, I had the previous model and loved it.
You won't regret the 27" , was is the dell one you got? They use a tn panel as opposed to IPs but still fantastic there's jus too many quality issues with the current gen of ips g sync panels.
I highly recommend you try building yourself or at least do it with someone who shows you as they go along. They're very straightforward to build these days.
I'm up in Charleville and could help you build it if you can't find anyone in cork.

Yeah picked up the Dell one alright, 611e in total but can't wait to give it a try!

I wouldn't mind giving it a go alright, would I need to get anything in particular like heatsink paste or anything like that? I'm sure there are decent Youtube guides out there perhaps. Thanks a million for the offer also.

The liquid cpu coolers tend to come with the thermal paste already on it.
Just take your time and read the manual for the chassis and the Board first. Put the cpu and ram into the board before you put it into the chassis as it makes it easier. Do it in a brightly lit room so you can read motherboard labels. The only tricky part I find it for the switches for power on/led / and the hd led etc. Always so small and a Bitch to read but a minute of reading the manual sorts it out. There's loads of YouTube videos on this anyway if you get stuck.

Update on this. Was heading for the home stretch and found that the backplate for the cooling system does not fit my motherboard.

It won't go near it, tried all configurations for it and no dice. What can I do in this case? Can't believe they weren't compatible. I wanna play games already

You need to request the plate from Coolermaster - they're free. In the meantime just use the stock cooler if it came with one.
