I've only seen him in CL and he never stood out. In last year's champions league Drinkwater was largely excellent for Leicester, wheras (while in a difficult group) Sporting were uninspiring going forward.

His numbers are good domestically but it's a big standard gap in leagues and easy to overrate the ability of a player based on good performances in a substandard league.

No. Look at the net spend for the last 5 years. Whatever the club has spent on transfers has been well under the commercial revenue.

Ox and Barkley don't fancy themselves to get into the starting XI.

Lukaku was most likely cash, he's on a reported 250k a week at United which would make him the top earner at Chelsea and that wasn't going to happen.

Ross Barkley has turned down a move to Premier League champions Chelsea in order to stay at Everton, according to the club's majority shareholder.

Farhad Moshiri said the club had accepted a bid and Barkley had agreed personal terms, before changing his mind after passing a medical.

Everton had initially rejected a £25m offer from Chelsea for the 23-year-old England midfielder on Wednesday.

"It is a big surprise but that is football," Moshiri told Sky Sports.
