Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes i know how FFP works, it seems a lot here dont
My point the whole time is PSG arent breaking it anymore than English teams
A lot of giving out about PSG ruining the game when infact they spent less than City this summer
My point about half the teams doing it is hyperbole any fool could see that hence why i dont acknowledge posts about it

:D You're the gift that keeps on giving

    Updated net spend:

Still some movement to happen so will update final total after tonight. Chelsea not spend should end up 20-30m if they sell Costa.

Absolute joke that Arsenal ended up in a net profit for the window. They even spent less money than Watford and Leicester! Spurs even spent more money and they are building a stadium ffs.

If you think Couthino is a bargain at £140m (or was the last bid more?) your mad :pac:

Surely that would make those players the opposite of a Bargain as their price would be pushed up given it would now be impossible for their clubs to replace them.

Funny that you end up at the bottom if you dare to make money.....

    £1,5 billion spent.
Lest all act surprised when the sky\bt subscription go up, when you need to apply for a mortgage to afford a season ticket.

Ya £12m a nice loss on the £28m City paid for him.

Well I mean in a spend table a profit will be a minus and naturally at the bottom. That id literally the point of the table.

I agree with you thats why i put it on the second line, Barcelona arent La Liga and are just as bad as the EPL for crazy sums

Why make a complaint against arsenal, sure he's still under contract with them. If he did then it's him they have an issue with.

    I am aware of that.

But usually the one at the top of the table does best.
So i guess City is best at spending money....

The Sanchez headline above says "he would have already signed the contract" which suggests he didn't as he was waiting for confirmation of the Lemar deal. He put too much trust in them on that one.

I can't imagine City have a legal basis for a complaint with would haves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,160 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Pep really was perfect for Barca. That is just ridiculously childish. How can he sign the contract if no bid was accepted? They illegally approached him in that case.

It wouldn't be anything to do with Pep if City were bizarrely considering suing Arsenal

Seriously how does anyone hire and pay this guy to be an expert.
I'm convinced that if FCB had put on table, with enough time, €60m for Ozil they would have got him. But they say he's not what they need

Ballbag had a brief moment in the sun because of his friendship with Benitez and he's been struggling ever since.

Despite Benz cutting the wage bill by around £200,000 a week in the last 10 days, Newcastle failed to sign anyone on deadline day, leaving a manager who no longer believes it will be possible to fulfil his ambitions of leading the team back into the Champions League under Ashley’s administration, without a fit specialist left-back

There is delusional and there is Rafa Benitez.

Same deal, different location. He should set his sights higher. I always thought Newcastle was below him

Did he actually say that though?

Nothing wrong with ambition tbf. Leicester won the league ffs!!

Newcastlea are a big club (one-club city, roughly 50k in gates every week) who were regulars in European football in the pre-Ashley days. In the article it also says:
Rafael Benítez has lost virtually all trust in Mike Ashley’s regime at Newcastle United and, no longer regarding his job as a long-term project, would be receptive to alternative offers of employment at similarly sized Premier League clubs.
He's not saying he could get them into the CL this year but as a long-term project, with the right investment, it could happen. I don't think that's so out there.

West Ham would be a better fit for him. The owners are a pair of tits but at least they're willing to invest in the club to make them more competitive, which is what Rafa is looking for.

He's taken one bad job after another since he left Liverpool.

Did well at Chelsea, but it was a stop gap and the fans never took to him. Ironically I think the best club for him besides Liverpool would be Everton.

He doesn't help himself though, he doesn't pander to the babies in football today and constantly falls out with players and the board. He really needs a break IMO.

Newcastle are such an underachieving club. If Benitez was backed properly they could be a decent outfit.

West Ham wouldn't be a bad fit, they seem to back Bilic a good bit, he's just not a good manager.

They do but there very eccentric Benitez would be banker to clash with them, don't think he got on too well with De Laurentis at Napoli, or Perez at Madrid.

    Neymar speaks out about Coutinho:
"Coutinho is a great player, he did well when he came on in the game and I'm very happy because he was able to score a goal during this moment he is going through, one of great sadness."

True, but thats not my point. What Coutinho is going through isnt great sadness or even close to it.

    I agree 100% it's not.

But you said ''Modern players haven't a breeze of real sadness'' which is a blanket statement

I'm sure the £100k a week pay rise he got in January when he signed a 5 year extension to his contract will help him get over that get sadness.

I'm also sure the club, national team & PFA reps will help pay for whatever help he needs from mental health experts if his great sadness continues.

Maybe the anniversary of Diana's death hit him hard. :):)

We'll see how professional he is now, will he sulk all season or will he do a Ronaldo and knuckle down, bust a gut and then get his move next Summer.

It's too late for UEFA to start an investigation into PSG. Will they hand back Neymar when they're found guilty? No. They'll get some meaningless fine and maybe a short ban on transfer signings.

Half of which will be suspended, the rest of which will be deferred, so what'll end up happening, at most, is that they won't be able to sign in 1 winter window.

Still, that's what you get. Not for gaming the system, but for gaming the system against UEFA's favourite club.

Some here may already be aware of this but its new to me - I saw someone post this website elsewhere and thought it was a really cool website with lots of neat stuff on it: linking to Monaco as an example but you can search for any team / league. Lets you see players unattached as well etc... Hours of statistic fun from it if you like that kind of stuff like I do :P
