That's harsh, it's not a sideways step, more of a stepping stone to a big club. Pick up your league winners medal in November and then manufacture a move to a big club!

Maybe they should stop playing Adecco\manpower and keep some homegrown players themselves instead of having 37 players at other clubs.
Same goes for City by the way.

1st week in Holland had Vitesse - NAC.
No less than 9 players on loan from Chelsea and City were on the pitch at some time.

How is it not more of an issue in the Dutch FA? Surely young Dutch players are losing out on playing because of all the loanees?
Isn't the max number of loanees you can play in EPL set at 2/3?

To be honest, we have bigger problems than NAC having 6 players on loan from City.
7 clubs on plastic is much more damaging.

But yes, there should be a limit on loanees, certainly from abroad.
It is getting ridiculous when PL clubs rob 15 year olds from Dutch clubs in order to loan them back a few years later.

Sagura (Barca) in on Spanish tv: we are really close to signing Dembele and Coutinho, any minute now.
Watzke (BVB) when kicker asked about Dembele: Sagura must still be groggy from the defeats against Real.

How many have a future at either club?
They'll probably be sold on as Pep & Conte have shown absolutely no interest in developing players.

Giovanni Simeone has joined Fiorentina from Genoa.

Must be tough for the fans of Vitesse and Nac knowing that their clubs are basically being used as farms for Man City and Chelsea.

  • The rumors are circulating that the bid for Coutinho is now 120 million.
More than likely spread around on the basis of the whooping Barca have taken off Madrid last night.

tbh I think they can attract both but securing a deal with their clubs is another matter. There is so much money involved with Premiership teams (and RB are loaded) that teams feel justified in saying no to them though.

So many clubs are asking for huge prices to part with their assets like Swansea with Sigurdson because they know how hard they are to replace (and in his case how important he may be to avoiding a relegation fight). However like in that case I'd say if Liverpool payed enough they'd get there men but perhaps in those cases the price really is just too high. If Barca did force their hand with a huge price for their player maybe they would too be willing to pay over the odds though.

Obvious troll is obvious! :pac: Both players would like to move, both clubs for very different reasons are refusing to sell, like Liverpool are with Coutinho and Barca. Money is king but that's true for the club that has the players registration as well as the potential buyer. Even Soton are rich enough to say no thank you.

To be fait to Vitesse, they are getting back more to a club that has their own squad.
Less depending on what Chelsea sends them. Less guaranteed 1st team football for the ones that are sent over.

What happens at NAC is ridiculous but started only 2 years ago.
Latest addition to the Dutch league is some 23 year old Argentine bought by Man City and loaned out to PEC Zwolle for 2 years immediatly.
So when that deal is finished he is 25 and no one can tell me City bought him for the future of their own first team.

Maybe they need to miss out on qualifying for a few more international tournaments to get some sense!

Maybe they need to miss out on qualifying for a few more international tournaments to get some sense!

Well, they appointed some guy to the Dutch FA earlier this week who used to be president of Heracles, the club that all started this plastic nonsense in 2003.
And he is shareholder at Ten Cate, who produce plastic pitches.
    So... there is that.

Not the thread for it but i could write a thesis about what is wrong with Dutch football and at the Dutch FA at the moment.
But hey... the stadiums are almost everywhere full, Ajax played the EL final (after what happened to be 4 draws that couldnt have gone better if they had been picking their opponents themselves) so everything is fantastic.

Sweden beat the French a while ago so now Holland will have to win in Paris in 2 weeks to still have a chance to qualify.
Too bad that your one but best defender is a bit of a twat and has been a grumpy teenager all summer and is now missing out on that match on august 31st.

Being a Feyenoord fan is really confusing nowadays. Things are so calm there right now and everywhere else it is a mess.
Usually the other way around :D

It's business and why does it bother you so much.

Because it reduces the only league i really care about to something like a development league for the PL
Because i would like to see the biggest Dutch talents in the Dutch league for a while before they piss off abroad and not see them robbed age 15 already.

I grew up seeing Feyenoord - Ajax in the Feyenoord stadium having Gullit, Rijkaard,Koeman, Van Basten and Cruijff on the pitch

Nowadays i can go and see Feyenoord - NAC and see 6 City players of 20 years and younger.

Except both players want to come. One has even gone on strike and handed in a transfer request. The clubs just don't want to sell for various reasons. Although I'm sure you know that already.

40 million for Matic between 2 clubs fighting for same title in this market was a bargain regardless. Chelsea have already lost 3 points in a match Matic would have been built for while Matic was MOTM in a type of game United were drawing last season.
I know it is all hypothetical but those 2 scenarios are indicative of the importance Matic could have been for Chelsea this season if they retained him (in a squad which is lacking depth) and the influence his presence may be for United this season.

40 million is f*ck all in this market if it buys you such an advantage overturn with a rival team.

He's lost the plot, he seems to think he's Pablo Escobar on the run or something.

He wanted it one way in January, when he tried to force an exit. He's been granted permission to leave now and his feelings are hurt.

Informing him via text wasn't the right thing to do by Conte, but Conte is just treating him with the same respect he was shown.

The league will miss him, I doubt many fans or other clubs will thought, but it was certainly a more interesting place while he was here.

Barcelona have completely lost the plot .

40m for Paulinho and 125m for Coutinho ,cloud cuckoo land .
They seem intent to blow all the Neymar money much like Gaspart did after selling Figo.

Let them, Liverpool and Dortmund should milk everything they can out of Barca. Huge pressure to buy and both clubs know this, they'll have to go big or go home in both instances. I liked watching Barca on the pitch but their perception of themselves is almost sickening in recent years.

Can't believe that's been rejected. That's an unbelievable return for him purely as a player at his best. Never mind that the Coutinho you'll be keeping may be unhappy and thus not himself. Would leave them 2 weeks to spend this window and set them up for future windows. Unless they're fully sure they can get more cash outta Barca

Liverpool already have £150m to spend on Keita and VVD who they cant get so far, another 125m is useless to them in this window. They know they'll stick get big money for him next year.

Coutinho is a good player but he is not in the top tier of players that would command such a big fee.
Its a crazy amount of money and will put huge pressure on both the club and player.

There are plenty of players that would be an alternative for a fraction of the price,Mahrez,Payet,Draxler,Sanchez,Douglas Costa.

I genuinely assumed theyed go back after Sanchez given hes got 12 months on his deal and would be half of what Coutinho is being touted at.

I cant see them giving PSG any money at all for the foreseeable future after the Neymar deal so Draxler, Verratti (who they originally upset) will stay put or move elsewhere.

Actually on that Veratti deal, I'm surprised they never got it over the line and then about a month later, PSG snatch Neymar for over 200m, mad.

Mahrez is nowhere near as good

Bit harsh, he's been there 6 months and scored 10 goals in 20 odd games. Not a bad return to be honest.

More PL goals & assists than Coutinho last 4 seasons. Less injury prone, exact same age.

Eriksen way more productive in his play. I'd take him over Coutinho.

€100 million would have Levy thinking a lot IMO
