Garda road closure at Mater?

    Does anyone know what the road closure was for this morning between the Berkley Rod Junction of the NCR and Mountjoy?

    There is nothing online about it!

    Yes I was passing this morning and Gardaí had the whole junction stopped, nothing on any news platforms about it though.

    Not even the AA had it mentioned.
    Traffic delays from Doyle's corner to botanic avenue was all it said.

    Probably just one of those spot-check armed response road closures. They do them quite a bit in Dublin 1/8/12 - probably other places too.

    It wasn't a checkpoint, something suspicious seemed to have been found among the bushes outside that entrance they were not letting any pedestrians that side of the road, there were 3 or 4 officers dealing with it and the the rest blocking the junction. Nothing on the news about it so must have been a false alarm!
