Has to be a red under the new directives

'sake lads, it's obviously going to be a partisan crowd, just like every other stadia throughout the world. We get it, you're hearing boos.

Lands on his head should be red

I think the 3 acts as a 'hinge' to send Ringrose flying even further but someone has to go for that

Rather a ruined game than a broken neck

Tackles like that not being reds ruin the game

    A real shame but that's a red.

    And there's the red.

Agree or not Mitrea explained it well

Probably under correct letter of law. But I always feel sorry for the tackler. They don't mean that and there's always a factor of momentum.

Red. Poor bloke. But has to be on that freeze frame ref requested.

That's a horrible end to Evans' season but there was literally no mitigating factor.

Lee was more at fault there. Two yellows would have been fairer.

We'll still lose this with those hands!

It didn't look the worst, but ones the head is the point of impact and there's a drive it's a red by the letter of the rules.

Good to see the refs being consistent with it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

We've seen sides survive these, we need to cut out the handling errors.

Looks uglier each time it's replayed, but I can't see any intent there

I agree but there's always plenty of Leinster supporters complaining about Ravenhill/the Sportsground etc for the same reason on here.

    Joke decision. Yellow all day

You have got to be joking?

Incredibly dangerous. Player straight down on his head. Very unfortunate but stonewall red card under the law.

Intent or not, there's a duty of care. Thems the rules.

All Welsh final is looking 50/50 now

    Come on Leinster please

    Intent doesn't matter.

Always going to be red, but you can have some sympathy for the tackler there.

Letter of the law its red.

Not sure how I feel about it. Other Scarlets player coming in seemed to do a lot of the damage in terms of causing it

Evans was screwed over by the other Scarlet who joined the tackle.

Ospreys have next to no chance tomorrow IMO the way they are playing

With the way the rule currently is, it simply has to be red but at the moment I think the law doesn't legislate for the tackled player twisting himself in the tackle which is what happened here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭crc

It's like the tackle from behind in soccer; need to cut out potentially career-ending tackles. Red all day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

I think Samson Lee played as big a part in that tip tackle.

I deleted that comment because I made it before all the replays and Sky Sports started talking red.

I have sympathy for Evans. The other Scarlet exacerbated it.

As for the outcome, it was always going to be a red. No question about it.

Leinster need to stop making silly mistakes in the second half.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,883 ✭✭✭shuffol

Very unprofessional performance so far. Scarlets just want it more. Considering they essentially took the foot off the pedal for the Ulster game they should be more up for this.

Leinster look bunched. Couple of lads haven't recovered from that Clermont game and we don't quite have the bench anymore to turn this around.

Nervous but still think we'll do it, would rather see us do it against 15 as a win now will have a big asterix beside it.

Never seen the RDS changing rooms before, think my local GAA club has a better setup :P

Yeah, red by the law but he was unfortunate with the additional player getting involved and momentum swinging him around.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,178 ✭✭✭Quint2010

Still plenty of time to turn this around but I was laughed out of here a few weeks back when Leinster lost to Ulster and said that Leinster had been sloppy and now they would have to play a much more dangerous team in The Scarlets. Leinster need to tighten this game up big time.
