Have found Cobblestone Joes very good for live music and a relaxed atmosphere. It usually gets busy around 10:30 but then gets quiet again around 12:00. Never have any hassle getting to the bar and haven't found it over crowded.

These are very subjective criteria. I'm inclined to say Mickey Martin's though. A lot of the pubs that do music are far from chilled but this would be an exception.

It's not a pub, though it has a drinks license and serves wine, but I would really recommend Chez le fab at Arthurs Quay. They have a wonderful open mic night on Wednesday evenings that is hosted by Emma Langford, a very talented artist. It is very chilled and relaxed with nice people.
