Lets be honest, Desert Strike was a sub par start to the series, 3 missions of a faux gulf war plot and only one vehicle. Not to mention the Snes version actually didn't play as well as the other versions (mega drive). Both Jungle and Urban are by far better games (as is Soviet on the playstation/saturn)

By far its worse crime was letting the mega drive version *sound* better. The music on the snes version is muck and the mega drive is stupidly better.

Which for any snes game is enough for it to be drowned.

Donkey Kong Country gone. Fur coat no knickers, the game. It's a very simple platformer. Level design is so so and the graphics look awful now, everything looks like it's made of plastic and they look like paper cut out whereas the real pixel art games look gorgeous. Not a bad game but not a patch on the better sequel or the best platformers the system has to offer.

This and its sequels have aged pretty poorly imo. It takes a bit too much from the battletoads philosaphy of difficulty and is really mostly remembered because it was the first time console star wars games could start emulating more of the actual films with mode 7 and the music (which it overplays to death)

I'm currently playing Link to the Past on my phone via emulator as a result.

Mega Man X in the bin. You can't crouch, can’t shoot vertically and it’s basically a tarted up NES game.

That's absolute blasphemy. Megaman X was the best since megaman 2 and the X series never topped it. It had levels that changed depending on what bosses you killed, some adventure elements with going back to stages to find more secrets and you could get a secret hadoken move.

I think they came out in my era, also born in the early 80s, but just I was a megadrive man. There are honestly a few I have never heard of.

ACTRAISER, AXELAY, DEMONS CREST, ILLUSION OF GAIA etc ....

So I can't vote for them as I have no clue. I'm trying to give some opinion on what I vote for as opposed to just randomly killing ones I've never heard of.

12 hours has pass so I'm killing Super Ghouls and Ghosts simply because Demon's Crest is better in every way aside from maybe humour so if one entry from that franchise is surviving this then it's hopefully that.

I've never heard of Demon's Crest before. I didn't know there was a sequel to Super G&G, which was bastard hard.. was Demons Crest as difficult?

It's part of the gargoyles quest series which is a spin off of gng. Not many people played demons crest, it's a very rare and expensive game these days. It's a brilliant sort of metroidvania type game. It's not too difficult either. It's also got some of the very best sprite work ever.
