Ok this my issue. As simple as I can put it. Posted in another forum but this one seems busier so might have more luck here getting answered.

    1. Laptop is not working. Black screen. Happened after leaving laptop on all night by accident.

    2. Rebooted it this mornign as it was frozen. Went to screen. Screen has Samsung logo. Under this is "preparing automatic repair". Then spinning clockwise circle. Last 30 seconds. Then goes to black screen. No cursor. Nothing.

    3. Tried to look it up. Couldn't find exact issue. All shortcuts and efforts to fix, reboot, get anything else to happen up to now have not worked. Can't get into safe mode. Can't seem to do anything.

So can anyone help me or know of something I can try or what I should do? Obviously I would like to fix it at home if I could do it myself rather than bringin it to someone as I figured it could be an easy thing to fix if you know what to do.

If someone out there can give me advice on this it would be hugely appreciated.

Any questions needed for clarification please ask and I'll do my best to answer them

    Many thanks,

    Jack

    HI there Jack!

We don't exactly know what laptop model you have there. Laptops nowadays have a function called "automatic system restore". The phrase varies from every makers, some brand calls it 1-click restore, or factory defaults. So you might want to do that, and if so, you need to know the exact hot-key to trigger the automatic restore process. The process should let you restore your OS to factory defaults. It should fix any software-based errors, but will erase any stored files under any user's account. Make sure you back-up those files before doing this. You can back it up using recovery boot CDs.

If that won't fix the problem, then probably it's a hardware issue. Might be the GPU or any component that has something to do with Display.

    I appreciate your response.

Model of laptop is Samsung Notebook NP355E7C.

It appears to be trying to go into that automatic restore every time. Not sure if I triggered it. In any case nothing seems to change the process. Is there any place in Dublin that you would recommend to take it in to get looked at?
I'll see if I can find the manual for the laptop it's somewhere at home. Tried F11 on startup but nothing.
