I think a line has been drawn today. If someone has a problem keep racing. Hope today has cleared that up. Don't wait for no one.

Sam Bennett had a good day, it seems and finished 100th out of 169 finishers (there were a further DNFs) and in doing so finished ahead of the likes of Teklehaimanot, Pozzato, Diego Rosa, Tiralongo, Adam Hansen etc - known good climbers, albeit on other duties today.

Here are the highlights of the stage today with commentary from Carlton Kirby & Dan Lloyd.

Their commentary of Tom's call of nature is not a patch on Rob Hatch.

If anyone knows of a YouTube clip of that please post the link... I was in disbelief watching the incident in real-time but also bursting out laughing at the reaction from Rob!

TD didn't have a 'comfort break ' - he was beyond that, stripping of to sh1t on the side of the road is not normal, it's akin to blowing up. What are we saying, if you're falling behind pull over and take a sh1t and the race will wait for you? It didn't work for Paula Radcliffe.

Remember Rough Ride? Kimmages account of GLM being taken up to the front of the peloton by his team whilst stinking of sh1t? Different times maybe.

Most opinions here of what happened yesterday seem to be leaning towards the GC riders should have slowed or at least not attacked or upped the pace as they did.

I would love to see what those who think is was fair game to keep going would think if it had of been an Irish rider,Martin or Roche.
I'm pretty sure i know that those opinions would change.
Remember Theiry Henry's handball. Replay the game, playoff match needed, lock up Henry ext ext.

Watched the stage properly last night, leaving aside 'dump-gate' the thing that really stuck me was the descent of the Stelvio at the end of the stage. Nibalis descending skills are just thrilling to watch. FFS he bunny hopped over a bit of wet woad mid descent just to keep his tyres dry. A couple of times it looked like he was about to lose control on the hairpins only to correct at the last second. I am in awe at his skill and nerve.

That was a very enjoyable stage to watch.

The bunny hop must be one of the best combinations of skill and nerve you will see on a bike or in any discipline. Only a split second to think about it and little or no margin of error. Superb!
I think we can safely say he has not lost his nerve following the Rio incident.

I was a bit disappointed, to be honest. I expected action on the Stelvio, but no dice. And given the length and difficulty of the stage, I thought the GC action would be more exciting on the final climb.

All the while, I was left with a sense of discomfort about the GC being decided by a dose of the trots.

So much empathy did I feel for TD that I actually suffered two days of the rear end jets myself! I literally felt his pain. That's how much of a fan I am. What's your excuse?
