Hi, I am aware that Government Stamp Duty is charged on credit cards in April each year. If I were to
cancel my credit card now, in May, would the €30 be charged again even though it's only the following month? Thanks

    Hi sjhway,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here on Boards.ie

The Government Stamp Duty tax year runs from April 1st to March 31st and is charged in arrears on credit cards. Once the account is active/open for any amount of time between these dates, we do have to collect the charge. In this instance, the charge will be applied when closing your account.

You can find more information on Government Stamp Duty on the Revenue's website here

Hope this helps but if you do have any other questions, please let me know.

    Thanks
    Tara
