Hi all, apologies in advance as I'm a novice with regard to this.

Friend has an amiko alien 2 on enigma 2. All good bar rte1 and rte2, when selected, keep crashing the box to a green screen. See image below. Rte1+1 also does the same. Also, he points out that under the channel listings the name rte1 and rte2 appear as rt1 and rt2. I'm not sure if that's relevant or not.

He has tried to delete the rte channels but he says in order to do so he has to select the channel and hence the box crashes. Is there a way alternative way of deleting the channels from the listings altogether? He is happy to watch the channels on his Saorview.

Thanks for any assistance and apologies of i have placed this on wrong section. Feel free to move as needed.

By entering the boxes network address into a PC web browser he can access a utility called 'Webif'. One of it's options is to edit the bouquets (channel lists)

I'd say a reflash is needed. You could be forever trying to track down the culprit.

Hi Gerry, this sounds like a plan. So once we delete the rogue rte1 and the 2 etc from within webif, it should delete them from his bouquet listings? He can manage around the issue but the other family members constantly forget and crash the unit. Thanks for the info.

Hey Jim, yeah the unit was flashed twice in fact but the problem persisted. It was left like that but it's become a pain for family members.

    Thanks for input.

It would be worth considering flashing a different image. There are numerous images and versions of images available for the Amiko. Sadly they can be temperamental with terrestrial channels. Is it possible the box was tuned to a different terrestrial mast in a different part of the country? If so delete all terrestrial channels and try a terrestrial rescan.

    HI Gerry,

As I'm a novice at this i have a couple of questions..

To do a rescan.....i would delete terrestrial channels via webif....then rescan the terrestrial channels?

If i do delete the rogue channels from the bouquet, will they reappear when the box is turned off/on again?

I understand there are many images and configurations for the box so its hard for you to answer.

    Thanks a million.

Yes, use Webif to delete rogue channels. They will not reappear. You will have to use the settings menu on the box itself to do a terrestrial rescan. If it still crashes when you attempt this, it's time for a different image.

Try disabling/uninstalling EMC and see if the issue persists.
