Sent in meter reading, got bill, paid same before due date of 17/05/17 . Received another estimated bill for E 8.59

Meter Reader never got in, as meter reading was already sent to you, What's going on...

    Hi edunne2010,

Thank you for getting in touch.

There are six scheduled electricity and gas bills per year. These bills can issue even if a meter-reading was sent in shortly beforehand, generating a bill.

The meters are read (for all customers of all electricity and gas providers) by ESB Networks and Gas Networks Ireland.

They aim to read a meter for four out of the six annual bills. When they do not read the meter for the scheduled bill, an estimate is calculated for the scheduled bill instead.

We recommend only sending in a meter-reading after receiving an estimated scheduled bill.

If you would like us to review the Electric Ireland account in question, do private message us the relevant Electric Ireland account number, stating that you are the account-holder and confirming your name, address and date of birth.

We will assist as soon as possible.

    Regards,
    Una
